The Delhi Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for allegedly raping his 65-year-old mother twice, claiming the assaults were “punishment” for her alleged past relationships. The incidents, reported in the Hauz Qazi area of Delhi, have sparked outrage and highlighted the disturbing nature of domestic abuse. The accused has been charged under Section 64 (rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and an investigation is ongoing.
The accused has been identified as Mohammed Feroze, alias Suhel.
According to police reports, the victim, accompanied by her 25-year-old daughter, filed a complaint at the Hauz Qazi police station on August 15, 2025. The woman resides in a household with her husband, a retired government employee, her accused son, and her younger daughter in the Hauz Qazi area. The family also includes an elder daughter, who is married and lives nearby with her in-laws.
The sequence of events leading to the assaults began during a trip to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, which the victim undertook with her husband and younger daughter on July 17, 2025. While abroad, the accused reportedly contacted his father, demanding that he return to Delhi immediately and divorce his mother. The accused alleged that his mother had engaged in “illicit relationships” during his childhood, a claim that appears to have fueled his actions.
The family returned to Delhi on August 1, 2025. According to the complaint, the accused escalated his aggression upon their return. On the same day, he locked his mother in a room, forced her to remove her burqa, and physically assaulted her, accusing her of having “spoiled” him during his childhood.
Fearing for her safety, the woman left the family home and sought refuge at her elder daughter’s residence.
The abuse resumed when the victim returned to her home on August 11, 2025. At approximately 9:30 PM, the accused insisted on speaking with his mother in private. He then locked her in a room, raped her, and declared that the assault was punishment for her supposed past relationships. The trauma continued when, on August 14 at around 3:30 AM, the accused raped his mother a second time.
Devastated and fearful, the victim confided in her younger daughter the following day. On August 15, the two visited the Hauz Qazi police station and submitted a detailed written complaint outlining the horrific incidents.
Based on the complaint, the Delhi Police registered a case under Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to rape. The accused was arrested, and authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to gather evidence and establish the full circumstances of the case. The police have assured that the investigation will be conducted with sensitivity, given the grave nature of the allegations and the familial relationship between the victim and the accused.
The Delhi Police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring justice for the victim. “We are treating this case with the utmost seriousness,” a police spokesperson stated. “The accused is in custody, and we are conducting a meticulous investigation to ensure all facts are brought to light.”
