Made from fiberglass and steel, it stands on a 7-foot pedestal designed to withstand high winds and last for more than a century. The four-year project symbolizes Sanatan Dharma’s global presence, faith, and the unity of the Indo-Canadian community. Its location makes it visible to passengers flying into Toronto Airport.

The ‘Statue of Union,’ a 90-foot-tall statue of Bhagwan Hanuman, was inaugurated on August 18, 2024, at the Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land, Texas, USA. The grand Pran Pratishtha ceremony was led by Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. Made of Panchaloha, it is the tallest Hanuman statue in North America and the third tallest statue in the United States. Standing at a towering 121 meters, it is the tallest statue in Indonesia and the third tallest in the world. The copper-brass statue, which depicts Lord Vishnu riding Garuda, was inaugurated by Indonesian President Joko Widodo. World’s tallest Durga Maa statue in Mauritius

In 2017, the world’s tallest statue of Goddess Durga Maa was unveiled at Ganga Talao, a sacred Hindu site in Mauritius. Standing at 108 feet, the statue was designed by sculptor Shri Matu Ram Verma from Bharat. Built over six years with donations, the statue—made of 400 tons of iron and 2,000 cubic meters of concrete – depicts the goddess with her lion, symbolizing strength and protection. Consecrated during Ashwin Navratri, this monument honors Sanatan Dharma’s global presence and reinforces the cultural identity of Mauritius’s large Hindu population.

World’s tallest Ganesha statue in Thailand

The world’s tallest seated statue of Bhagwan Ganesha, measuring 39 meters (128 feet including the base), was unveiled in 2012 at the Khlong Khuean Ganesh International Park in Chachoengsao, Thailand. Though Thailand is predominantly Buddhist, Ganesha is revered here as the remover of obstacles and the bringer of success. The statue, which holds four symbolic fruits – jackfruit, banana, sugarcane, and mango – serves as a cultural and religious beacon for Southeast Asia, attracting pilgrims and tourists alike.

At the entrance of Taman Safari Bali in Indonesia, a 46-meter-tall statue of Lord Ganesha, completed in 2011, stands as the tallest in the country and among the tallest in the world. Depicting the deity in a sitting posture with four arms holding his symbolic items – a broken tusk, a noose, an axe, and a bowl of sweets – the statue is made of concrete and fiber. It attracts both devotees and tourists, symbolising good luck, wisdom, and new beginnings. This monument represents a fusion of Hindu spiritual presence and Indonesian cultural pride.

Constructed over six years (2004–2010) with steel, concrete, zinc, and copper, and funded by Kamal Jain with expertise from Bharat, the statue was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Sharad Singh Bhandari. Located just 20 km from Kathmandu, it has become a major hub for religious tourism, especially during Shivaratri and Teej.

The Mangal Mahadev statue, standing at 108 feet (33 meters), was inaugurated in 2007 at Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao) in Savanne, Mauritius. It’s a replica of a Shiva statue in Vadodara, Bharat, and its ritual consecration took place during the Maha Shivratri festival in 2008. The site is considered the most sacred Hindu place in Mauritius, with the statue surrounded by temples dedicated to Durga, Hanuman, Lakshmi, and Ganesha. Thousands of barefoot pilgrims visit annually during Shivaratri, making it a powerful spiritual hub.

The statue was a gift from the Government of Bharat to honor the long-standing collaboration between Bharat and CERN, which dates back to the 1960s. Placed outside the world’s leading particle physics laboratory, the statue symbolizes Shiva’s cosmic dance as a metaphor for the dance of subatomic particles, an idea popularised by physicist Fritjof Capra in his book The Tao of Physics. A plaque near the statue explains both its spiritual and scientific symbolism.
