Recently, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma openly criticised the Bangladesh-origin Muslims, or Miya, for wrongdoings like Love Jihad in the state. And a number of love jihad and trapped love cases by Islamists have come into light across the state.
Such a very organised love jihad case was cracked by the Morigaon district police on August 13. Here, Abdul Wasim Arman changed his identity as a Hindu boy and trapped a minor Hindu girl in his fake love. The accused Abdul Wamis even created a fake Aadhar card and a PAN card in a Hindu name to convince the minor girl. The Islamist even met the parents of the minor Hindu girl so that he could mix up with her.
SSP Morigaon Hemant Das said that a case was lodged by the parents of the girl. The girl has been missing since August 5. Police investigation found that the girl was in touch with a boy named Pallav Kalita, who was introduced through social media. But later it was found that the original identity of the boy is Abdul Wasim Arman. With his fake identity, Wasim proposed to the girl and even met her parents with a marriage proposal. But the victim’s parents said that she is a minor now and will think about her marriage once she reaches the legal age.
After the rejection of the girl’s parents, Wasim planned to kidnap her. On August 5, the minor girl went to visit one of her relatives and has gone missing since then. Her parents searched for her for 5 days but couldn’t trace her. On August 12, they lodged an FIR with the Morigaon police.
Acting swiftly on the case, Morigaon police rescued the minor victim from Darrang district. Accused Wasim has been arrested by the police.
The victim told police that she came to know his original identity when Wasim took her to a Muslim village. They stayed there for five days with a Muslim family. She tried to leave the place, but Wasim prevented her from doing so. She didn’t even know where she was taken by her fake lover. The minor girl has been counselled by a woman and child centre as she has passed through trauma in the last 6-7 days. SSP Das said that parents need to be careful about the social media activities of their children, as anyone can be trapped by miscreants like Wasim. A case of Kidnapping and abuse has been registered under the POCSO Act, as the victim is only 16 years old. But the case exposes how Islamists are abusing social media to trap Hindu girls and women with fake Hindu identities.
