Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, led by the Delhi University Students’ Union, organised a Felicitation Programme for students’ union office bearers at the University of Delhi on August 12. The ceremony marked the end of the union’s tenure and honoured those office bearers who worked in the students interests throughout the year. On this occasion, student union office bearers from various colleges of Delhi University were not only recognised for their contributions but also reaffirmed their resolve to continue working for students’ welfare in the future.

The event was graced by the presence of Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta as the chief, ABVP National Organising Secretary Ashish Chauhan as the keynote speaker and ABVP National Secretary Shivangi Kharwal, State Secretary Sarthak Sharma, DUSU Vice-President Bhanu Pratap Singh and Secretary Mitravinda Karanwal as special guests.

In his address, Vijender Gupta stated, “ABVP is a school for character building. I myself am a product of this very school. The youth plays a crucial role in nation-building. In the times of crisis, it is always the youth who has taken the lead. The tireless efforts you have all year long to address the students’ problem must continue in the future as well. My best wishes are with you to keep moving ahead with the same enthusiasm and zeal.”

ABVP’s National Organising Secretary Ashish Chauhan stated, “On one hand, Delhi University is hosting its convocation Ceremony and on the other, ABVP is celebrating the contributions of Students’ Union office bearers who have worked for student welfare throughout the year. This is the result of the hard work and dedication of our activists who are not just active on reels and social media but also work at ground level. Just as we raise our voices for Students’ Welfare inside college campuses, we must also be ready to respond without hesitation if any voice is raised against Bharat.”

DUSU Vice-President Bhanu Pratap Singh stated, “Over the past year, we have faced numerous challenges while remaining among the students and being their voice. Be it admissions, examinations, syllabus, campus infrastructure we stood by the students 365 days a year. We did not indulge in a mere reel activism, rather we fought on the ground to resolve every issue. In the days ahead of us, we will continue to work for student welfare and national interest as our topmost priorities. ”

DUSU Secretary Mitravinda Karanwal stated, “Be it University of Delhi or any educational institution in the country, if there is a threat to student welfare, it is Vidyarthi Parishad that works to resolve it. We are not limited to social media, we are ground level activists. Recently, we held a continous 16 day protest for our demands, compelling the university administration to address student concerns. This is the true power of students. In the upcoming elections, we will challenge the reel activism, win all seats in Delhi University Student’s Union and further strengthen the trust of students.”
