The Ministry of External Affairs announced on July 20, 2025, that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United Kingdom and the Maldives from July 23 to 26, 2025.

In the first leg of his tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United Kingdom from July 23 to 24, 2025, at the invitation of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. This will mark Modi’s fourth official visit to Britain.

During the visit, PM Modi will engage in talks covering the full spectrum of India-UK bilateral relations and exchange views on key regional and global issues. He is also scheduled to meet King Charles III as part of his UK itinerary.

India and the United Kingdom are set to review the progress of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), with a key focus on trade and economy, technology and innovation, defence and security, climate action, healthcare, education, and people-to-people connections.

PM Modi has been officially invited by the President of the Republic of Maldives, H E Dr Mohamed Muizzu, to attend the country’s 60th Independence Day celebrations on July 26, 2025, as the ‘Guest of Honour.’

As part of the second leg of his trip, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Maldives from July 25 to 26, 2025, marking his third official visit to the island nation.

Prime Minister Modi and President Muizzu will hold discussions on matters of mutual interest and review the progress of the India-Maldives Joint Vision for a ‘Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership.’ This initiative was adopted during President Muizzu’s visit to India in October 2024, highlighting India’s strong commitment to its maritime neighbour, the Maldives.

“The Maldives continues to hold a special place in India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy and Vision MAHASAGAR. The visit will offer both countries an opportunity to further deepen and strengthen their close bilateral ties,” the Ministry of External Affairs stated on July 20.
