Israel-Iran Conflict: Hindus and Jews face common existential threat from radical Islam

The Islamic regime of Iran, driven by an ideological obsession to annihilate Israel, poses a grave threat not just to the Jewish state but to global peace, especially with its nuclear ambitions nearing reality. In the recent conflict, Israel is not merely defending its borders; it is defending its very right to exist against a theology-fuelled hatred that views its elimination as a divine goal

We have to call a spade a spade. The current war going on between Israel and Iran is simply not a conflict borne out of territorial aspirations of either of the combatant nations; it is the will and determination of one state to obliterate the other and an obdurate effort by the other to stop this from happening. After the advent of Islam, Jews are the most hounded community by it; the intensity varied at various intervals of time and ever since the said community came back to Israel, the land of its ancestors, the forces of Islam are not leaving any stone unturned to obliterate it. It is very simple to trace the reasons. It is found in Sahih Muslim, Book 41, Hadith 6985. The narration says:

“The Hour will not be established until the Muslims fight the Jews. The Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will say: ‘O Muslim, O servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him’ — except for the Gharqad tree, for it is the tree of the Jews.”

The world community has to decide whether it should stand as a mute spectator and witness this unholy act of mass extermination take place? 1.25 billion Hindus, especially, face a similar existential threat from fundamental Islam.
Hadith in Musnad Ahmad (Hadith 23804)
Narrated by Abu Huraira.

The Prophet Muhammad said: “Surely, your army will invade India, and Allah will grant them victory. They will bring the kings of India in chains, and Allah will forgive the sins of those warriors. When they return, they will find Jesus, son of Maryam, in Syria.”

It is very clear that like Jews, Hindus too have been at the receiving end of Islamic jihad, and the dream of the Jihadists is to capture the land of both the Hindus and the Jews.

Should two of the oldest civilizations of the world, Hindus and Jews, allow the predatory ideologies of jihad to carry on with their agenda of extermination of both of them? The answer is a big no. Therefore, Hindus, from every nook and corner of the world, especially from Bharat, should wholeheartedly support the people of Israel during their hour of need.

Israel has been supporting Bharat in every war which the latter has fought in the past fifty years. Now, when Israel is fighting the Islamist regime of Iran, Bharat should support it in all ways possible. Though Israel has maintained a reasonable amount of weapons and delivery systems, yet, in a long-drawn war, it will need replenishments and additional war paraphernalia; Bharat should be prepared to do the needful.

Most of the Islamic countries, notwithstanding their deep differences with Iran and the Shia-Sunni conflicts, have come in support of Iran. Israel should not feel isolated and Hindus must come out openly in its support. The world had ignored gross acts of terrorism by Hamas on innocent people of Israel and focused on the latter’s retaliation only. Similarly, in the current situation also, in university campuses and main squares of the European towns, protests in support of Iran will be stage-managed by the vested interest lobbies. Hindus should join hands with their Jew brethren and come out openly at such places for counter-demonstrations against the jihadist forces.

Nuclear weapons in the hands of responsible regimes are considered credible deterrents; but the same in the hands of Islamic bigots can be catastrophic. At the height of the Cold War, neither the USA nor the USSR threatened to use them against each other. Even at high points of provocation, during the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, never did Russia move its nuclear weapons out of silos even once.

However, those who have studied the history of Islamic invasions and subsequent occupation and subjugation of the lands of the vanquished will agree that the rulers don’t have any humanitarian considerations and are capable of using any weapon at their disposal. They don’t care for their own populations either, who can be vanquished in the retaliatory action of the adversaries.

In today’s context, an example of Hamas is in front of everybody to see. The terrorist organisation had made tunnels underneath hospitals and schools where it had stored its missiles and other weapons. Iran also has its stockpiles in its predominant residential quarters. Every now and then, it keeps on threatening Israel with attacks that will exterminate its population but starts playing the victim card when Israel retaliates in a defensive mode.

Similarly, Bharat, though more powerful than Pakistan in nuclear terms, has never threatened Pakistan with a nuclear attack. But Pakistan has a history of threatening it with its nuclear arsenal. Not to talk about Pakistan’s non-state actors, its ministers regularly threaten Bharat with nuclear weapons. Sheikh Rashid, Khwaja Asif, and Mohammad Hanif Abbasi—all of them who held ministerial posts at various intervals of time—had unabashedly threatened Bharat with nuclear weapons.

Jews, who have been contributing for ages in the fields of finance, science, and technology, and Hindus, who have a ten-thousand-year history of not attacking any foreign land, are facing a constant threat of extermination from Islamist regimes. Both the civilizations have the right to defend themselves.

Other democratic countries of the world too have to seriously think about the impending threat from the Islamist regimes and the terrorist organisations supported by them. They have to put their act together before it is too late.
