Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanth Arlekar told, on May 10, in Kozhikode, that Pakistan is an “artificial territory” which was created by the vacuum when we forgot ourselves. He was inaugurating “Samskruta Sangamam” in connection with the 45th state conference of Vishva Samskrita Prathishtan, the Kerala chapter of the Sangh-inspired Samskritha Bharati.
In 1947, we had lost several qualities. We lost the sentiment and feeling that we are one. We have lost the identity of our history, heritage, and language. Such a situation created Pakistan. It is not our territory in Pahalgam that the terrorists attacked, but the gates of our own homes. It is because we lost our own identity. Now, Bharat is trying to regain that identity back. The efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi alone are not enough for it. All of us should work for it and support it.
Governor continued that we did not know the religion, language or native place of the Pahalgam martyrs until that incident took place. When our country avenged that cold-blooded terror act, some say that we should not cross the border. This mindset should go. We should realise who we are. We should be Bharaityas first and last. This concept should grow further. That is why Prime Minister Modi raised the slogan of “United Bharat, Great Bharat.” We should give total support to our government. We should stand united and recognise our identity. We should know our culture. We should study Sanskrit. The next decade and the next century belong to us.
Governor Arlekkar added that our education system was changed in such a way that we forgot our identity, language, and pattern of education. When we were asked to learn English, we learned ‘in English’. And, we gave up our language. Lord Macaulay is not to blame for this; we ourselves are responsible. These days, we do not have ‘achan’ (Malayalam word for father), but we have daddy. No Amma, but ‘mummy’. No ‘Ammayi’ (Malayalam word for aunt), but ‘aunty’. Who are we to blame for it, other than ourselves? We have to regain our lost heritage, language and history. Sanskrita Bharati national general secretary Sathyananda Bharati delivered the keynote address.
