Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) International Secretary General Milind Parande has said that terrorist activities are gaining strength in Kerala, with the state government indirectly supporting such elements. Speaking at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday, Parande cited the recent case of Sajjad Gul, the head of The Resistance Front (TRF) involved in the Pahalgam terror attack, who had reportedly studied a lab technician course in Kerala. He described this revelation as “shocking.”
Parande claimed that the Kerala government is aligning itself with a particular religious group and taking an “anti-Hindu” stance. He accused the state of attempting to destroy Hindu customs and temples and of trying to sabotage traditional temple festivals. “It was the state government that tried to disrupt the Thrissur Pooram celebrations,” he said.
He also announced that the VHP has launched a campaign to reclaim Hindu temples from state-run bodies like the Devaswom Board. This campaign will be expanded to five more states in South India. According to Parande, the aim is to unify the Hindu community across caste lines and bring them under one umbrella.
Highlighting the seriousness of the situation, he mentioned the recent discovery of the body of a young man (Muhammed Shanib) from Mannarkkad in the forests of Pahalgam in J&K. The body, believed to be ten days old, has raised further concerns. Parande demanded a thorough investigation into the incident.
