A candlelight vigil was held on April 23 at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Statue on Tank Bund Road, Hyderabad, in tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack, which occurred on April 22, 2025, in Baisaran Valley, claimed the lives of at least 26 people—most of them tourists—and left over 20 injured.
The tribute was marked by the participation of key leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Union Minister and Member of Parliament and BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy and several BJP MP’s including Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Eatala Rajender, G. Laxman, and MLA’s. The leaders gathered to pay their respects and express solidarity with the families of the victims who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
Speaking at the event, Union Minister Kishan Reddy strongly condemned the attack and assured that the central government is committed to combating terrorism in all forms. “ This is an attack on India’s sovereignty, aimed to disrupt peace and normalcy in the region. Every perpetrator of this inhuman act will be dealt with uncompromising force and brought to justice!,” he said.

The tribute began with a moment of silence observed by all present. Dozens of candles were lit in front of the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, symbolizing peace, hope, and remembrance. Floral wreaths were placed at the statue as a mark of respect.
The event witnessed participation from BJP cadres, local youth groups, students, and social organizations. Several attendees carried placards demanding justice for the victims and calling for stricter security measures in conflict-prone regions. Many also carried the national flag as a gesture of patriotic solidarity.
