A young girl who travelled from Ghazipur to take her 10th board exam was raped by Janardan Yadav, the school manager in Ballia and national vice president of the Samajwadi Shikshak Sabha (Teachers’ Association). The incident occurred in the Bhimpura police station area. The girl stated that Yadav lured her into a room on the campus under the pretence of giving her the question paper. He then raped her and threatened to kill her if she told anyone. A case has been filed, and Yadav has been arrested.
The terrified minor reached home after the examination. She explained the entire incident to the family members when they repeatedly questioned her. On March 16, her uncle then went to the police station to register a complaint. She attends the Basmati Sarju Higher Secondary School in Kharaupur. She resides in a village close to the Karimuddinpur police station in Ghazipur. Its examination centre is at SVBSIC in Kharaupur Uskar. She went there on March 1 for her Mathematics exam. However, the SP leader raped her.
“I have raised my niece since she was a child. She is currently a 17-year-old 10th-grade student. We admitted her to Basmati Sarju Higher Secondary School in Kharaupur, Ballia, and her examination center is SVBSIC in Kharaupur Uskar, Ballia. The manager of the school is SP leader Janardan Yadav. On the day of her exam, I had left her at my friend Shivshankar Yadav’s house for the exam, and he dropped her off at the examination center between 7:15 and 8:15 am on March 1. She had a Mathematics exam that day. After she arrived at the school, Janardan Yadav took her to a separate room on the school premises under the pretext of explaining the question paper. The room was located near the entry gate of the school,” said the victim’s uncle. He went on to reveal that “Janardan took her there and raped her after threatening to kill her. I came to know about all this later, because she was very scared. Afterward, I lodged a complaint in Bhimpura police station on March 16. We are very scared after the instance.”
The police took swift action and registered a case against the accused under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Superintendent of Police (SP) Omvir Singh confirmed that the girl was sent for a medical examination at the district hospital on March 17. The police are taking the necessary legal steps in the case. Anand Yadav, National Secretary of Samajwadi Shikshak Sabha, confirmed that Janardan Yadav holds the position of National Vice President in the organisation.
Madan Patel, the police station in-charge, stated that the accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway. Ashish Mishra, Deputy Superintendent of Police in Rasra, was promptly dispatched to the scene after the crime was reported, leading to the immediate apprehension of the perpetrator.
