Guwahati– Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat is set to arrive in Assam on Friday for a five-day visit, as part of his ongoing nationwide tour (Prabas) to mark the centenary celebrations of the RSS (1925-2025). His visit, from February 21 to 25, aims to engage with RSS volunteers and intellectuals while addressing key societal issues.

According to the official schedule, Dr Bhagwat will land at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati, on Friday afternoon and head directly to Sudarshanalaya in the Barbari locality. His visit will include multiple interactions, public addresses, and discussions with Sangh functionaries, focusing on social transformation and national consciousness.

During his stay, Dr. Bhagwat will engage with RSS Karyakartas (volunteers) and participate in a select gathering, where he will elaborate on five key issues shaping India’s future:

  • Social Harmony – Strengthening unity among diverse communities.
  • Civic Duties – Encouraging responsible citizenship.
  • Environmental Protection – Promoting sustainability and conservation.
  • Spirit of Selfhood – Fostering self-reliance and cultural pride.
  • Values of Ideal Family (Kutumba Prabodhan) – Reviving traditional family ethics.

Key Programs & Meetings
On February 22, Dr. Bhagwat will address a meeting of Rashtra Sevika Samiti at IIT Guwahati, focusing on the role of women in societal progress and national development.

On February 23, he is scheduled to speak at a Bouddhik program at South Point High School, Saukuchi, where thousands of RSS Karyakartas are expected to gather. This session will focus on ideological discourse and the significance of Sangh’s grassroots efforts in nation-building.

Additionally, Dr. Bhagwat will participate in closed-door meetings with Sangh Pracharaks and other dignitaries to discuss strategies for expanding organizational work in the region.

Assam has been a crucial region for the RSS, with its strong emphasis on cultural preservation, national integration, and indigenous identity. Over the years, the Sangh has played an instrumental role in mobilizing youth, promoting educational initiatives, and advocating for indigenous rights. Dr Bhagwat’s visit is expected to provide further impetus to these efforts.

Kishor Shivam, Prachar Pramukh of RSS’s Uttar Asom Pranta, informed that after concluding his engagements in Assam, Dr Bhagwat will leave for Arunachal Pradesh on February 26 to continue the next phase of his centenary Prabas.

With the RSS preparing to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2025, Dr. Bhagwat’s visit holds special significance, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to nation-building, cultural resurgence, and social upliftment in the Northeast.
