Operation Gazwa-e-Hind Exposed in Malegaon: Know how illegal Islamist migrants fraudulently obtain birth certificates

Malegaon: A concerning discovery has emerged from the Malegaon District and Sessions Court, where a legal intern, under the guidance of senior advocate, has unearthed a massive fraud in birth registrations that threatens the nation’s demographic and security fabric. This issue, far larger in scope than isolated incidents of religious conversion, Love Jihad, or Vote Jihad, reveals a well-organised network working to undermine India’s social and political stability.

The investigation began when the legal intern noticed a suspicious pattern of birth registration notices published in a small local newspaper called Balekilla. These notices, numbering between 300 and 500 each month, were primarily for individuals aged 30 to 75, with a majority from the Muslim community. These registrations were processed under a new law implemented in 2023, which shifted the responsibility for issuing birth certificates from the courts to Deputy Tehsildars. While intended to streamline the process, this law has inadvertently enabled fraudulent activities to thrive unchecked.

Prior to the implementation of this law, over 13,000 birth registration cases were pending in Malegaon courts. Applicants were required to submit documents such as Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, and ration cards, followed by public notices in newspapers. Birth certificates would be issued if no objections were raised. However, with the authority now vested in Deputy Tehsildars, the system has reportedly been exploited by organised syndicates and corrupt officials to fabricate documents and secure citizenship for ineligible individuals.

An RTI application filed with the Malegaon Tehsil office went unanswered. Upon personally visiting the office, the Tehsildar informed that some officials were colluding with brokers to expedite these fraudulent registrations. Further digging revealed parallels to a 2016 case in Chennai, where over 413,000 fake birth registrations were exposed. Alarmingly, it was discovered that individuals from Bangladesh and Pakistan were using fake identity documents like Aadhaar cards and voter IDs to gain citizenship through these fraudulent processes.

The investigation also uncovered a systematic modus operandi. Organised groups are falsifying educational records by tampering with old madrasa and school registers and producing fake witnesses to support these claims. They then use these forged documents to secure birth certificates after publishing notices in obscure newspapers with minimal readership. When no objections are raised, the certificates are issued, effectively granting these individuals Indian citizenship. This scheme reportedly receives funding from terrorist organisations, which aim to destabilise India and circumvent the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

The issue extends far beyond Malegaon, with reports of similar activities in other regions. Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar are said to be entering India through porous borders in Bengal, Tripura, and Mizoram. They settle in areas with dense Muslim populations to avoid suspicion, blending in by taking low-profile jobs or surviving on begging. Once integrated, these groups obtain forged documents with the help of organized syndicates, enabling them to influence electoral processes and access government benefits.

There have been cases where after the filing of the FIR, arrests were made and several illegal Islamists from Bangladesh, Rohingyas were convicted, and they pleaded guilty.

This operation poses an existential threat to India’s demographic and national security. By obtaining birth certificates and becoming citizens on paper, these individuals can access voting rights, potentially altering the electoral landscape. The integrity of the justice system is also compromised as cases of fraudulent documentation pile up in courts. Despite the gravity of the situation, efforts to bring it to the attention of higher authorities have been met with indifference.

If immediate action is not taken, the implications could be catastrophic. This operation is not just a conspiracy to alter the country’s demographics; it also poses severe risks to national security, law and order, and India’s socio-political framework. The government must launch an urgent investigation, hold complicit officials accountable, and dismantle this network before it reaches its final stage, which they warn would be “Operation Gajwa E Hind.”
