“If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them. In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be most unwise. But we should claim the right even to suppress them, for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to anything as deceptive as rational argument, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant.” –Karl Popper, The Open Society and Its Enemies, Vol I – The Spell of Plato, George Routledge and Sons, London, 1947, p. 226
Since Nazi sympathiser, notorious short-seller and self-certified protector of open society, George Soros opened a front against Bharat, with specific reference to the Narendra Modi Government and the state of democracy in the mother of democracy, he has been under the scanner for dubious activities. His support for the anti-Adani campaign is also well-known. Just before each Parliament session, some reports emerge targeting Bharat, Modi Government or some business deal and enterprise, which vitiate the political atmosphere and hampers the legislative work. What has transpired with the scathing attack of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unravelling the connection between intolerant Soros and the dynastic Congress is that it has opened up many global issues related to the Deep State and dubious attempts of regime change. Both the American Deep State and the dangerous Soros gang endorse the undemocratic and Islamist Muhammad Yunus regime in Bangladesh, which makes the allegations all the more sinister.
Though Soros is known to be a market-monopolist who uses his Open Society Foundations-funded activists, media personalities, NGOs, think tanks, etc., to amass wealth and facilitate weak and meek governments, he always does this under the garb of democracy and open society values like freedom and free speech. As the sworn enemy of ‘enemies of open society’, Soros, along with his dynastic institution, has assumed the role of defining which countries are democratic and which are not. Perfectly synergising the agenda with the American Deep State, the ousted and banned billionaire from his home country, Hungary, engages himself in the regime change operations for personal gains. As witnessed in Bangladesh, his commitment is neither to democracy nor to an open society. He is wedded to the twin objective of amassing wealth and satisfying his ego of controlling the world. Are radicals ruling the roost in Bangladesh and abusing the human rights of Hindus, Buddhists and Christians an indication of an open society? The world over, Soros has endorsed Yunus-like regimes promoting intolerance and instability. He promotes the uncivil activities of Maoists in the name of ‘civil society’. None of the notoriously proud and known acts of the ‘old, rich and dangerous’ billionaire sitting in New York – shorting the Pound Sterling in 1992, the Thai Baht in 1997 and the Malaysian Ringgit in 2013 – have facilitated values of openness and freedom. The ultra-Left Maoists, who want to overthrow the democratic Constitution or Sharia-propagating Islamists, are the actual beneficiaries of Soros’ profit-making and ego-satisfying agenda. Contrary to his guru Karl Popper’s teachings, he expects others to tolerate his intolerance so that he can amass wealth.
As these connections and the role of this power-hungry businessman with the geo-political developments are under scanner, his links with the Nehru-Gandhi family, its dynastic party and trusts are naturally being questioned. Is it not a fact that Soros had a university-time association with Rahul Gandhi’s aunt, Fori Nehru, wife of the late B K Nehru, one of the cousins of Indira Gandhi? Why and how did Salil Shetty, the global Vice President of the OSF, also an active participant in anti-CAA and farmers’ protests, join Gandhi in his Bharat Jodo Yatra in October 2022 in Karnataka? How did Rahul Gandhi’s foreign visits precede the political activism in Bharat and from fake allegations of corruption in the Rafale deal to democracy in danger narratives originate from the same Soros-funded sources and think tanks? Why does Congress scion have meetings with the Soros-promoted entities in the West? Why did Sonia Gandhi continue as a co-chair of the Soros-funded Forum of Democratic Leaders in the Asia Pacific (FDL-AP), an organisation targeting the territorial integrity of Bharat? Is George Soros’s funding and Congress’ secret agreement with the Communist Party of China (CPC) interconnected to each other? These and many more questions are still unanswered.
The question is not whether Adani or Soros should be the topic of discussion in the Parliament of Bharat. Whether the Parliament of Bharat should be allowed to be driven from foreign soil is a pertinent moot question. Congress is a dynastic party, and Soros is an intolerant entity who does not want to understand and appreciate the historical and cultural specificities of Bharat. Is Yunus-like regime change deepening this dubious connection? Should we allow these undemocratic and intolerant forces to determine the electoral outcomes and policy decisions in sovereign Bharat? The self-confident and assertive Bharat is finding a new role in the comity of nations. With the eternal values of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Ekam Sat Vipraa Bahudha Vadanti, Bharat is spreading the message of spiritual democracy and brotherhood. Economic and technological strides and cultural resurgence are two simultaneous processes that the Bharatiya people are striving for through democratic mechanisms. Any effort to thwart such aspirations should be tolerated under any circumstances. It would insult the true values of freedom and open society. Instead of misleading the nation on foreign-originated narratives, the dynastic Congress should come clean on the dubious links with the Soros gang. Instead of following the short-sighted agenda for political gains, the family-run party should learn from West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, who, despite political differences with the BJP, dared to give a befitting reply to the radicals in Bangladesh about unity and integrity of the nation and amend its ways. Otherwise, in the dream of making the prince the king by hook or crook, the party will further get discredited and become part of the grand old history.
