RANCHI: After the Congress in-charge for Jharkhand affairs Ghulam Ahmed Mir stirred controversy with his pre-poll promise of providing LPG cylinders at Rs 450 to “infiltrators,” Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday said that Jharkhand is in danger and urged the people of the state to save it.

“Congress is announcing to give gas cylinders to intruders in Jharkhand. Congress Jharkhand state in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir is saying that we will give cylinders to intruders for Rs 450…These are those intruders who have come from Bangladesh to our country…I want to say that the state is in danger and you all have to save it,” Chouhan said.

“The JMM-Congress people brings them here, they made valid documents for them, add their names in voter list, prepare their Aadhar and Ration cards, lakhs of infiltrators have infiltrated in our land. At many places they (infiltrators) have misled the tribal daughters and married them, procured lands on their names and occupied it,” added Chouhan.

BJP National spokesperson CR Kesavan said in a post on X shared the video of Ghulam Ahmed Mir promising gas cylinder benefits to illegal immigrants.

“Congress Leader and AICC Jharkhand in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir promising gas cylinder benefits to illegal immigrants. The crooked Congress will not hesitate to go to any extent and spread its dangerous, toxic politics of religious appeasement and polarization,” Kesavan posted on X.

Earlier, Ghulam Ahmed Mir stirred controversy after making a pre-poll promise of providing LPG cylinders at Rs 450 to everyone, including “infiltrators.”

“As soon as the government is formed, from December 1, the price of a gas cylinder will be just Rs 450 for everyone, whether he is Hindu, Muslim, or an infiltrator,” Mir said in a video that was shared by BJP’s CR Kesavan on X.

Earlier today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah hit out at the Hemant Soren government and alleged that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) was mired in corruption and if the BJP came to power would wipe out the infiltrators from the state and would bring a law to return the encroached land of tribals.

Addressing an election campaign in Giridih, Amit Shah said, “Hemant Soren government has not allowed to implement schemes of PM Modi as it is mired in corruption. We will ensure industries in Jharkhand so that the labourers do not have to go to other states for work. Hemant Soren is not bothered to build industries in Jharkhand or create electricity. There are mines of aluminium and iron ore but Hemant Soren is not bothered that they are manufactured here. He is only concerned about allowing the infiltrators to enter Jharkhand.”

Elections on the remaining 38 seats will be conducted on November 20. The counting of the votes will take place on November 23. (ANI)
