RAIPUR: The state of Chhattisgarh is celebrating its “Rajyaotsav 2024”, a three-day celebration marking the State Foundation Day on November 1, the day on which it was carved out from Madhya Pradesh in the year 2000.

Hailing the achievement of the state government in tackling the red terrorism in the state, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Mohan Yadav on Monday termed the action taken by the state government as a step towards establishing ‘Ram Rajya’ (an ideal state created by Bhagwan Ram).

“The operation launched by the Chhattisgarh government against Naxalites is being commended and hailed by the entire country. The way our innocent villagers and tribals were being killed (in Maoist violence), this is establishment of Ram Rajya in true sense,” he said.

“When there was demons’ rule, then Bhagwan Ram showed the path. You have taken a step forward, Madhya Pradesh will also walk hand in hand with you,” added the Madhya Pradesh CM.

Notably, security forces are in midst of an aggressive offensive in the state of Chhattisgarh this year, neutralising over 190 Maoists in separate encounters in Bastar, an administrative division of the state badly-hit by red terrorism. The fierce campaign comes amidst the Maoists executed over 50 civilians in separate cases of targeted killings in the corresponding period in the violence-hit state

The success achieved by the forces in Maoist’s den of Bastar has arrived months after the incumbent Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in a series of meeting with the officials after assuming office last year instructed to amplify operations in the Maoist’s stronghold of Bastar, particularly in Abujhmaad adjacent to Maharashtra borders.

Significantly, as many as three districts of the neighbouring Madhya Pradesh namely Dindori, Balaghat and Mandala also remains affected by Maoist insurgency where the forces have achieved some commendable success in recent few years.

Earlier CM Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday welcomed Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at his residence. CM Sai welcomed MP CM Yadav by offering him a shawl and fruit basket.

MP CM Yadav attended and inaugurated the three-day ‘Rajyotsav’ 2024 program as the chief guest. CM Yadav congratulated CM Sai on the Chhattisgarh Foundation Day and conveyed his best wishes. Further both the CMs also attended ‘Diwali Milan Samaroh’ in Nava Raipur city of Chhattisgarh.

On this occasion, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh Ji, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw and Vijay Sharma along with other dignitaries were present.”

In a social media post on X, Yadav wrote, “Hail Chhattisgarh Mahtari (Mother)! I had the privilege of participating in the Rajyotsav program organized in the capital Raipur today on the 25th foundation day of Chhattisgarh, a sacred land of rich heritage and culture. My best wishes are that the state should always move ahead on the path of progress and the journey of pleasant changes in the lives of citizens should move forward.
