RANCHI: A pandora’s box has been opened as terrorist Dr Ishtiyak who was arrested a few months ago. He has confessed that he was running several terrorist camps in Chanho, a place which is around forty-five kilometres away from the capital city of Ranchi. It was during the interrogation by the National Investigation Agency that he made this confession. Also, what is more startling is the sudden increase in the number of mosques that have come up in Chanho.

While speaking to Organiser, Dr Anuj, who has been visiting Chanho for the past few years, confirmed that the local Hindus have confirmed that there has been a sudden spurt in the total number of mosques that have come up in Chanho. This is evident from Google Maps also, which shows that there several mosques in that area.

Also, he informed Organiser that some of the locals, who spoke on the condition of anonymity have confirmed that in the last few years there has been an increase in the total number of illegal migrants who are entering the state from Bangladesh and are posing a threat to the security of the region.

The locals in the area hae also confirmed that the sudden surge in the illegal migrant population was noticed by them as Chanho does not have any attractive source of employment.

Moreover, the illegal migarnts or the Rohingayas are being to settle down in Chanho  in a very systematic manner. The local Hindu population have confirmed that the illegal migrants who are mostly Islamists visit Chanho by stating that they have their relatives over there. In wach house of the Islamists there are at least five to ten such illgal migtants who are residing. After staying there for a few months, thse people get their Aadhaar Card and other such legal documents made and then they settle down in the area.

Chanho is just one of the few places in Jharkhand where the increasing presence of illegal migrants mostly Islamists is posing a big security threat. Apart from Chanho, another place is Santhal which has become the hotbed of illegal migrants. This is evident from the complaint that was filed last year informing the authorities.

Dr Anuj also spoke about Santhal and infomed that it was last year that a complaint was filed with the police about the presence of illegal Bangladeshis in the area. Initially arrangements are made for making these llegal Islamist Bangldeshis to stay in the Madrasas and then their official documents are made claiming that they are citizens of India. Post that their names are added in the voters list. The presence of such illegal migrants is not only in Santhal but in other districts of Jharkhand as well.

With the State Assembly elections round the corner, it is important to mention that the changing demography in the state of Jharkhand is a big issue and the High Court too had pointed out that stringent action should be taken to combat infilfration of illegal Bangladeshis.
