The much-anticipated Swadeshi Mela 2024, hosted by the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch and Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyan, is set to take place from October 23-27 at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road, Hyderabad.  The upcoming Swadeshi Mela 2024 promises to be a vibrant platform for India’s local entrepreneurs and MSMEs, exhibiting the strength and beauty of indigenous industries and their products and innovations while fostering a spirit of self-reliance among citizens.

Prof Lingamurthy, Dakshin Madhya Kshetra convenor of SJM, speaking to Organiser weekly said, “Swadeshi Mela is a unique exposition that brings together a vibrant mix of indigenous, culturally rich, heritage-inspired, environmentally friendly, and technologically advanced goods and services created by Bharatiyas within Bharat.

This event not only offers an opportunity for people across the country to experience and appreciate these locally made products but also serves as a trusted platform for micro and small businesses to showcase their offerings and gain visibility. Large business houses also participate and lend support, recognizing the Mela as an ideal venue to promote their products alongside India’s finest local enterprises.”

The upcoming Swadeshi Mela will offer a remarkable showcase of Bharatiya products, where entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and industry leaders will highlight a fusion of tradition and modernity across various sectors, including large, medium, small-scale, and cottage industries. From handicrafts and artifacts to cutting-edge electronics and IT solutions, the Mela will provide visitors with a comprehensive look at the diversity and innovation within India’s indigenous industries. Additionally, Swadeshi Mela will feature daily cultural events, seminars, discussions, workshops, and training programs aimed at fostering appreciation and support for Swadeshi products in today’s economy.

Swadeshi Mela will present an extensive display profile that truly reflects the diversity and vibrancy of Bharatiya products. Attendees can look forward to experiencing a wide range of offerings, including electronics and consumer products, IT solutions, and Self-Help Group (SHG) items, alongside KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission) products that showcase India’s heritage crafts. Banking and insurance services, educational institutions, research organizations, and village products will also be on display, emphasizing both urban and rural innovations. The Mela will feature handmade jewelry, healthcare products, handlooms, and handicrafts that demonstrate the finest of traditional artistry, as well as Ayurvedic and yoga centers, and an array of furniture items.

Other highlights include a selection of bread and baked goods, spice preserves, solar power equipment, and various FMCG products, ensuring visitors enjoy both functional and culturally rich items. Essential service sectors, such as hospitals, kitchen appliances, real estate, and electrical fittings, will be represented, alongside stalls from government departments, NGOs, and national tourism. To complete this diverse offering, milk, dairy, and ice cream products, beauty and spiritual accessories, fashion items, and food stalls are also featured, making Swadeshi Mela a one-stop destination to experience and celebrate the breadth of India’s local and sustainable products.

Prominent figures, including local leaders and celebrities, are expected to attend, lending their support to this cause. Students from schools and colleges will also participate in competitions, sparking their curiosity and fostering a sense of pride in India’s self-reliant journey.

As part of the Swadeshi Mela 2024,  SJM  & SBA are hosting the Mega Job Fair on October 23, at same venue, in association with Sewa International and Nipuna Human Development Society. Starting at 9 AM, this event will bring together over 100 companies from various sectors, including IT/ITES, pharma, nursing, hospitality, banks, retail, FMCG, and management. With 10,000+ job offers available, the fair welcomes candidates with qualifications ranging from 10th grade, Intermediate, ITI, Diploma, and B.Tech to M.Tech, all graduates, PG, and Pharma from 2016 to 2024.

Swadeshi Jagaran Manch is a socio-cultural and economic think tank started in 1991 to protect the country’s economic interests across all the sectors of our economy against neo-liberal economic policies, foreign influences on our economy. SJM awaken people time to time and involved in policy intervention at various levels from district level to the top policy making body to have self-reliance policies on various economic sectors such as agriculture, handlooms, handicrafts, MSME, defence, national security, banking, fishery, migration, employment, WTO, RCEP, imports & exports, bilateral relations, multi-lateral relations, telecom, electricity, solar energy, boycott Chinese products and employment creation.

SJM faught against to cow slaughter, GM crops to protect the agriculture in Bharat. It also organizes lecture programs, seminars, conferences, workshops, research on various contemporary issues in a regular interval.

Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) is a movement to address the acute problems of the country such as unemployment and poverty in our country started in 2022. This movement has been initiated collectively with many organizations and civil society groups such as Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Laghu Udyog Bharati, Sahakara Baharati, Akhila Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat, ABVP, Vanavasi Kalyan Parishad, Seva Bharati, Grama Vikas at the national level and many other organizations at respective state level like BSSF in Telangana State.

The aim of SBA movement is to encash the demographic dividend to make developed Bharat by providing livelihoods to every citizen of the country and thereby removing poverty from the grassroot level.

Professor Lingamurthy warmly invited everyone to the Swadeshi Mela, stating, “Join us in celebrating and promoting India’s entrepreneurial spirit at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road, Hyderabad, from October 23-27. Witness the remarkable innovation and resilience that define Bharat.”
