Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the party workers and the public during the grand victory celebrations in the BJP headquarters had made a serious and very factual allegation over the Congress leadership, alleging about their ties with the global anti-Bharat forces.

PM’s statement is not a mere allegation which was made to catch the political gains, rather a statement based on the facts and evidence available in the public domain. Making anti-Bharat statements in abroad, meeting with anti-Bharat people and lobbying them to work against the current establishment, widening the fault lines of Bhartiya society by peddling fake and biased caste and religious issues, making strategic tactical alliances with radical and urban naxal forces etc had become a hallmark for the present Congress leadership.

Congress, Caste and Reality

The issue of caste census had been popped into the Bhartiya political discourse from 2022 Uttar Pradesh elections by Rahul Gandhi . But a noticeable fact is that, the timing of the issue matches the point from when Christophe Jaffrelot wrote a series of articles in a Bhartiya daily during the September of 2021 ! But the most striking factor is that Jaffrelot’s caste census narrative timed with a fund from a US-based Philanthropic foundation named Henry Luce Foundation (HLF) and received HLF’s funding for the period between 2021 and 2024. And incidentally this Henry Luce Foundation had been providing fund to the organisations and individuals who were making anti-Hindu and anti-Modi narrative !

Rahul Gandhi during and even in the post 2024 Lok Sabha Election phase used to talk about caste and caste census issue in a aggressive way. But there is a need to analyse the historic stance of the congress party on the issue of caste and caste census.

Nehru wrote a letter to the Chief Ministers of all states on June 27, 1961 and expressed his dislike of any reservation on the ground of caste, particularly in public services. Nehru wrote “They (scheduled castes and tribes) deserve help but I react strongly against anything (here, reservation) which leads to inefficiency and second-rate standards. I want my country to be first-class in everything. The moment we encourage the second-rate, we are lost,”  Nehru didn’t stop here rather he expressed his disenchantment with the increasing sputter of reservations during that era and further wrote in his letter ““I am grieved to learn how far this business of reservations has gone.. It has amazed me to learn that even promotions are decided sometimes on communal and caste considerations. This way lies not only folly but disaster.” Thus Nehru’s reference to reservation as ‘crutches’ implies that the first Prime Minister was not in favour of reservations.

Jawaharlal Nehru had opposed a caste census in 1951. Indira Gandhi put the report of the Mandal Commission on a cold bag ven though it was submitted to her in 1980. In fact, the same year, she coined a slogan to counter caste-based parties: “Na jaat par na paat par, mohar lagegi haath par (Vote for Congress and not on caste and community lines)”.

Rajiv Gandhi ignored the Mandal report. When V.P. Singh implemented the OBC reservation, Rajiv Gandhi termed it as an attempt to divide the country on caste lines. Recently, when the previous Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government in Odisha initiated a caste survey, the Congress state unit opposed it.

According to a report published in India Today on September 30, 1990 it was Rajiv Gandhi, who during the meeting of CWC and Political Affairs Committee of the Congress Party on September 03, had brought a resolution, drafted by Mani Shankar Aiyer, which closely advocated the total rejection of the Mandal report. However the report further claimed that Rajiv Gandhi had to face resentment within his party on opposition of the Mandal Committee report and “Rajiv admitted in an interview to a daily that he was overruled.” Rajiv Gandhi even once had alleged that in the name of reservations there was no need to promote the “buddhu” and this was quoted in the Navbharat Times daily edition of March 03, 1985.

Author and columnist Sajjan Kumar in his article titled “The Karpoori Thakur Effect” had described that it was the Congress, which in 1967 had enabled the fall of Karpoori Thakur led Sanyukta Vidhayaka Dal (SVD) coalition Government in Bihar.

Congress and Anti Bharat Forces: 2 sides of a same coin !

Congress’s connection with anti Bharat forces and individuals like George Soros are not a hidden one rather had been a open public affair !

On October 31, 2022 Salil Shetty, the global vice president of the Open Society Foundation of George Soros, had joined the Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra at Harthikote in Karnataka.  Shetty had been actively involved during anti-CAA protest sites like Shaheen Bagh and also during the so called farmers protest during 2020. Shetty had even claimed that Bharat’s vaccination drive against COVID-19 was a failure and despite of the high costs of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines he batted for them. Shetty had called the Bharat’s government stand that foreign vaccines must go under trials in Bharat as “foolish arrogance from the regime in crisis.”

Rahul Gandhi’s foreign visits had always use to attract controversies due to his meetings with anti Bharat elements. During his foreign visits to the USA in recent years one can observe the active role of organisations like Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) and Hindus for Human Rights (HfHR), having links with Jamaat-E-Islami and George Soros, in organising the events of Rahul Gandhi. Bhartiya agencies had banned the social media handles of these organisations due to their disinformation campaign against Bharat over it.

In his 2023 US visit he shared a stage with Sunitha Vishwanath who was associated with several organisations having philanthropic backing from Open Society Foundation (OSF) of George Soros and Vishwanath had earlier tried to create hysteria and panic among Bhartiya Muslims about NRC !

In his recent visit to USA he interacted with US politician Ilhan Omar ! Omar was the person who in 2022 argued to legitimate Pakistan’s control over occupied Kashmir and even demanded the intervention of US agencies in Kashmir matter at US House of Representatives.

In December 2022, the Income Tax Department sent a 33-pager show cause notice to Center for Policy Research (CPR) alleging that the think tank was in violation of being involved in activities that were “not in accordance with the objects and the conditions subject to which it was registered”. The I-T notice asked for an explanation from CPR for receiving donations from a Washington DC-based organization, Namati, for allegedly using the funds to litigate and file cases. Finding discrepancies, the following year on February 27, 2023, theGovernment of India canceled the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) registration of CPR was suspended for 180 days on grounds of violations found during the IT Department proceedings. Subsequently, CPR lost its Tax exemption status to the Income Tax department on June 30, 2023. On January 10, 2024, the FCRA license of CPR was canceled for allegedly mis-utilizing foreign funds to affect Bharat’s economic interests, and aid protests and legal battles against development projects.

Between 2012 and 2021, Namati partnered with CPR for an environmental justice programme. Namati paid CPR a total of Rs 11.55 crores between 2016-17 and 2020-21 alone. In the notice to CPR, the IT Department had asserted that the purpose of this program was for litigation purposes and filing complaints rather than any educational purpose.

Interestingly Centre for Policy Research is a think tank led by Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar’s daughter, Yamini Aiyar ! However , after two months when the government has annulled the CPR’s licence she resigned from it !

And above all noticing point is that George Soros had been in the advisory board of NAMATI also !

Conclusion

Today, Bharat is ready to achieve new milestones . A strong and a resurgent Bharat is not in the favour of many global powers and the year of 2024 is a turning point in the history of Bharat. So to stop Bharat, before and during the elections vicious attempts were made to erode the nationalistic waves and which were surfing in the hearts of the people of this country. Slanted Narratives were manufactured by global powers to subvert the opinions of the people of Bharat and broaden the faultlines to divide the society. But all their exercise have gone to vain. Bharat has now started to travel with a faster speed to achieve its dream of Viksit Bharat in 2047. And the most interesting part of the game is that these divisive narratives has been picked up by the leaders of Congress Party and their INDI Alliance partners against Narendra Modi.
