RANCHI: Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on Wednesday, October 2 inaugurated the “Dharti Aaba Janajtiye Utkarsh Abhiyan” (a tribal-centric campaign with a total outlay of around Rs 79000 crore) and emphasised that the campaign will greatly benefit the tribal community of Jharkhand.

Addressing a gathering in Hazaribagh of Jharkhand on conclusion of “Parvartan Yatra” (a campaign by the Jharkhand unit of BJP, aimed at outreaching the people which covered over 5400 kilometers in across all the 81 constituencies of the state and concluded on Wednesday), PM Modi said that the campaign will be beneficial for the tribal people as it will connect them to the benefits provided under various government schemes.

The PM while underscoring the significance of celebrating the icons of the community, said that “We have started celebrating “Janjatiye Gaurav Divas” on the birthday of Bhagwan Birsa Munda who is also called ‘Dharti Aaba’. On his name Dharti Aaba Janajtiye Utkarsh Abhiyan has started in today’s time. The scheme aims to connect those tribal people with government schemes, who have yet not got the benefits of such schemes.”

Schemes such as the Dharti Aaba Janjatiye Utkarsh Abhiyan, Mobile Medical Units along with other schemes connected to solar energy, electricity, water etc. will greatly benefits the people of the state in bringing a change in their lives, providing them an opportunity to move forward, added the PM.

The PM further expressed his satisfaction over respect shown to the heroes of the tribal community by his government and the party, highlighting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) build a tribal museum dedicated to Bhagwan Birsa Munda in the capital city of Ranchi.

“Today I am proud that our government is giving full respect to the tribal heroes. It is the BJP which has started campaign to build a tribal museum. A museum dedicated to Bhagwan Birsa Munda has been built in Ranchi. We have started celebrating the “Janjatiye Gaurav Diwas” on the birthday of Bhagwan Birsa Munda,” said the PM.

He emphasised that the community (Tribal) will make progress only when the youths are armed with quality education and the Union Government is doing everything possible to provide quality education to the youths of the community. “40 Eklavya Modern Residential Schools are already being inaugurated, while foundation stones have been laid for 25 EMRC,” he added.

Congress erased identities of tribals

The Prime Minister further launched a vicious attack on the ruling coalition of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and the Congress party, alleging them for ignoring key issues of the tribal community and promoting nepotism-oriented thinking. He also slammed the Congress party for ignoring the contribution of tribal heroes in the freedom struggle.

“In order to give recognition to one of its families, Congress erased the identities of tribal families living in every corner of the country. Congress never gave importance to the tribal community which made such a huge contribution in the freedom struggle. All the schemes are in the name of the sons and daughters of one family, such nepotism-oriented thinking has done a lot of harm to the country,” said PM Modi.

He further takes on the JMM and alleged that “now the JMM has also been coloured by Congress and RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal). This is not the same old JMM. Today JMM has been taken over by the Congress ecosystem. Today JMM is haunted by the ghost of Congress, the language changed, the character changed, and now they are trying to change the soul of Jharkhand.”

Parivartan Yatra

Highlighting the significance of Parivartan Yatra, the PM said that while “the central government is working day and night for the development of Jharkhand, though the state government on the other hand is trying to derail the development of the state.

“Today everyone in the state knows that Congress-JMM and RJD’s (Rashtriya Janata Dal) alliance is the biggest hindrance in the development of the state. Jharkhand will only grow and develop when the present government will lose. Jharkhand will only grow when there will be change in the state. Therefore, the Parivartan Yatra is underway in the state,” he added.

The PM also lashed out the JMM led coalition government over the infiltration issue asserting, that “the population of tribals and Hindus is declining sharply in Santhal while the population of infiltrators is increasing at the same time. The population of infiltrators are on rise, they are encroaching the lands of tribals and the women of the tribal community are on target.”

“Such is the situation that even the high court has expressed its concern over the issue but the state government is denying any infiltration. The pain of the people of Jharkhand was evident during the Parivartan Yatra, hence we have taken a pledge to safeguard the “Roti, Beti and Mati”,” said PM.

Notably, the tribal dominated state of Jharkhand is all set to hold assembly polls by December this year where the JMM led ruling coalition is up against BJP led NDA in the electoral battle for 81 state assembly seats.
