Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Home Minister started his election campaigning from Sahibganj district in Santhal Pargana region of Jharkhand by giving clarion call for expelling illegal Rohingya and Bangladeshis.
Santhal Pargana is highly and deliberately influx by the illegal Rohingya and Bangladeshis to change the demography of the region and, consequently, of the State. Jharkhand, Assam and Bengal are the main three States in which this influx is being done due to its geographical proximity. Such illegal Rohingya and Bangladeshis are spread across the country, and they are changing the demography of areas.
Since Independence, the Hindu population in India decreased by 4.28 till 2011, while in Santhal Pargana region, the Hindu population decreased by 22.42. On a national level, the Muslim population increased by 4.31, but in the Santhal region, it increased by 13.3. On a national level, the increase in the Christian community is 231, while in the Santhal region, it is 6748. Meanwhile, in the Santhal Pargana region, the tribals’ population has decreased by 16.55 from 44.66 to 28.11 in 2011.
As per the 1951 Census, the population of Santhal Pargana was 23, 22,092 of which Hindus were 20 98,492 (90.37 per cent), Muslims were 2 19,240 (9.43 per cent), and Christians were 4,289 (0.18 per cent). Tribal people were 10, 37,167 (44.66 percent) in the total population.
As per the 2011 Census, the population of Santhal Pargana region has almost tripled. As of 2011 census, the population of Santhal Pargana is 69,69,097, of which Hindus were 47,35,723 (67.95 per cent), Muslims were 15,84,285 (22.73 per cent), Christians were 2,93,718 (4.21 per cent). Tribal people comprise 19, 59,133 (28.11 per cent).
The Santhal Pargana region is now divided into six districts: Sahibganj, Godda, Pakur, Deoghar, Dumka and Jamtara. A minute study of statistics clarifies that between 1961 and 2011, the Muslim population at the national level increased by 3.54 per cent while their population increased by 14.7 per cent in Sahibganj, 13.84 per cent in Pakur, 8.91 per cent in Jamtara, 7.39 per cent in Godda and 5.82 per cent in Deoghar. On the contrary, during the same period, the population of the tribal/adivasi community decreased by 14.53 per cent in Pakur and 12.66 per cent in Sahibganj.
Sensing the grim situation, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition was filed in Jharkhand High Court. In the PIL, it was alleged that in some districts of Jharkhand, Muslims are being infiltrated in a planned and deliberate manner. The tribal girls are being converted by luring and marrying them.
Santhal Pargana is on the priority list of Islamic forces. As per the 2011 census, 5857 Muslim tribes are registered. These days, the Muslim tribes are deliberately luring Hindu and tribal girls through Love Jihad and marrying them to occupy and capture the land of the tribal society.
Now, Muslims are excessively affecting the politics of the region. Rajmahal Lok Sabha seat is the key point of this Muslim politics. Rajmahal Lok Sabha seat comprises three Assembly seats of Pakur and three Assembly seats of Sahibganj district. The BJP won the seat in 1998 and 2009 Lok Sabha elections by a slender margin of 9 and 8983 votes respectively. Otherwise, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) or the Indian National Congress won the seat. The JMM has been winning the seat since 2014.
Muslims also use their tested policy of pressurizing the government to form new blocks when they become dominant. In Godda district, Pathargama block had 19.18 per cent Muslim population in 1961. Basantrai block is being carved out from Pathargama block, and in Basantrai block, the Muslim population is 50 per cent plus. Udhwa block is being carved from Rajmahal block in Sahibganj, where the Muslim population is nearly 64 per cent. As per the 1961 Census, the Muslim population in Karon block in Deoghar district was 23, and Margomunda block was formed by carving out from Karon block in which the Muslim population is nearly 50 per cent.
The deliberate influx in Jharkhand, especially to the Santhal Pargana region, will play an essential role in the forthcoming Jharkhand Assembly election. The Home Minister Amit Shah vehemently raised this issue in his Sahibganj rally. The silence of I.N.D.I Alliance parties, mainly the JMM and INC, is also shocked; they are not interested in solving this issue.
