NEW DELHI: “A national level Karyakarta Sammelan of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram at Samlakha in Haryana. This is organised in every three years. On September 21, demonstration of diverse ways of worships and rituals will be demonstrated by 80 different Janjati (Scheduled Tribe) Communities in 80 Pandals. With this Sammelan, people across the country will be aware of these traditions. Earlier also when this sammelan was organised in Shirdi, special ritual was performed there. Rashtriya Swayanmsevak Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat ji will also participate in this Sammelan. More than 2000 people from across the country are expected to participate in this Sammelan,” said Pramod Pethkar, Prachar Pramukh, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram on September 16, while informing about the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarta Sammelan being organised by Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram in Samalkha, Haryana on September 20-22, 2024.

While briefing various initiatives and activities for the welfare of Janjati Samaj by Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Pethkar said, “Vanvasi kalyan Aashram is working since last 7 decades across the country. To protect and promote the culture and traditions of Janjati society, we have taken many initiatives including education, game skilling. There are more than 20,000 projects in the sector of Education, Health, Sports, Agriculture etc. at 14,000 places. And this is happening across more than 50000 villages in the country.”

Some janjatis worship the Saakar (formed), while some worship the Niraakar (the formless). There is diversity as well as the feeling of unity in this event. The importance of the East direction in the worship, the experience of seeing God in nature like water-fire-trees, invocation and worship of Shiva and Ganesh is also there, which forms the integral part of Hindu faith and culture. Whenever a worship is organized in the janjati society, then bhajan-kirtan-dance is also organised. One special thing is that instead of individual worship, collectivism is seen in the worship, which is an integral part of the culture, said Vanvashi Kalyan Ashram.
