Unhappy at Muslims setting up shops around Hindu Mandirs and selling puja items, more so, by hiding their identity, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has urged all the State Governments to put an end to this practice so that the faith of Hindus is not hurt. Says VHP Joint General Secretary Dr Surendra Jain, “Why should Muslims be allowed to sell puja items? The puja items are sacred for us, and their sanctity can only be maintained by those who have faith in Hindu Mandirs. Those who don’t have faith won’t bother about keeping them in pure State.”

He further asks, “Can a non-Muslim sell any Namaz related product outside a Mosque? No, not possible. Will a Hindu be allowed to sell items that are used in Kaba? NO! Non-Muslims are not even allowed to enter Kaba. The fact is that the Hindu society, today, is witnessing this ‘spitting on products’ by Muslims, which has deeply hurt their sentiments. They have now become very cautious – they don’t want to buy products from Muslim shopkeepers who don’t value their faith and practices. We have just put forward their concerns.”

The Thillai Nataraja Temple, located in Chidambaram,
Tamil Nadu

As of now, the VHP doesn’t have the exact data of Hindu temples where non-Hindus are selling puja items, he says, adding, “The VHP has not yet conducted any survey over this issue. Our state units are dealing with it.”

UP Govt order to eateries

The UP Government’s order to all eateries and food carts along the Kanwariya route to display their names prominently is a just move, he says. “It is certainly not a bid to divide the Hindu and Muslim community. Those who call it a divisive order are trying to bully the Government,” he says adding that Muslims never buy a product which in not Halal certified. “Almost all companies, including Patanjali, are now getting their products Halal certified. And, mind you such a certification raises the product cost. Hindus are forced to buy these products at hiked rates. In fact, this Halal certification is the new Jaziya for Hindus. Don’t Hindus have any right to protect their faith?” he asks. Divulging more, he says, “With the help of Halal money, terrorists are being funded across the globe. This money is also used for conversion of non-Muslims to Muslim faith.”

Free temples from govt control

Talking about ‘free temples from Government control’ movement, Dr Jain says, “It were British who took control of Hindu Mandirs. While Islamic invaders attacked and looted Hindu Mandirs, British took these under their wings. This should have stopped after we got Independence. Unfortunately, it didn’t stop due to colonial mindset and still various States have control over Hindu Mandirs across the country. Interestingly, various state Governments don’t exert control over smaller Mandirs. They are only interested in bigger ones because of the revenue generated in those. As if this wasn’t enough, the Governments also divert temple funds to Muslims (for Haj yatras) and Christian Missionaries. This is adding insult to the injury! In one of its judgements, the Supreme Court has said that running Mandirs is the responsibility of society, not the duty of government.” He also informed that if Mandirs are not freed from the clutches of Government, the VHP will be forced to escalate its movement.

Ban on Cow slaughter

During the recent Sri Jagannath Yatra, the VHP had organised a meet, Sant Chintan Baithak, in Puri, which was attended by Sants from all across the State. All of them called for a ban on cow slaughter and conversion activities by Christian Missionaries in Odisha. “This has been our demand since the VHP came into being. Unfortunately, Bharat is the only country where Muslims think it is their right to slaughter cows. Bajrang Dal has become the single largest organisation to free the cows from the clutches of cow slaughterers. Yes, there is a total prohibition on clow slaughter in some states but, there still are a few States like Bengal, Kerala and Karnataka, where cow slaughter is allowed to appease Muslims.”

Muslim Vote bank politics in West Bengal

It can be said without an iota of doubt that there is a growing systematic radicalisation in Bengal due to Muslim vote bank politics. At the All-India Quran Competition held in Kolkata recently, Kolkata Mayor and TMC Minister Firhad Hakim remarked that those not born in Islam were unfortunate. “They are born with misfortune… it (Islam) should be spread among non-Muslims),” said Hakim.

“Can a non-Muslim sell any Namaj related product outside a Mosque? No, not possible. Will a Hindu be allowed to sell items that are used in Kaba? NO! Non-Muslims are not even allowed to enter Kaba”

When asked about it, Dr Jain says, “This was the most unfortunate statement. Bharat is fighting against religious conversion since many centuries. Bharat was divided due to religious conversion. Thousands of Hindus were slaughtered on Direct Action Day and many Hindus were killed in Kashmir due to this religious conversion. Religious conversion by Christian Missionaries and Mullahs must be stopped.”

UP Anti-Conversion Law

Talking about the UP Government’s attempt to strengthen anti-conversion law, which is also to deal with love-Jihad, he says, “This law is to deal with forced conversion. Love-Jihad is one of the most dangerous parts of religious conversion. Even Kerala High Court talked about it. But, it was media which associated the anti-conversion law only with Love-Jihad. Love-Jihad is just a small part of this law. The actual issue is very big.” n
