The two-day meeting of the Central Governing Council of the Vishva Hindu Parishad was held at Maheshwari Bhawan in Jodhpur. Addressing the press conference held on Sunday, July 28 for providing complete information of the meeting, the National President of VHP and senior advocate Alok Kumar said that every displaced Hindu should get citizenship in the meeting. Along with ensuring the sattvikta and sanctity of Hindu beliefs and traditions, it was resolved to make temples centres of awakening, propagation of Dharma, Service and Social Harmony.
Sixtieth year completion program
The VHP President said that this year, on Sri Krishna Janmashtami, the VHP will complete 60 years. It was decided in the meeting that in such a situation, massive public awareness programs will be held at thousands of places across the country. To be conducted between August 24 and September 1, 2024, these foundation day festival events will include discussions, seminars, and public programs on the achievements of 60 years of VHP, the challenges currently faced by the Nation, Dharma, and Hindu society, and their solutions. Through them, we will take the VHP’s work and Hindu values to the masses.
Citizenship Amendment Act: He said that in many states of the whole country including Rajasthan, Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, VHP and Bajrang Dal workers are helping in every village, street and locality to get citizenship to persecuted, displaced Hindus from Pakistan. In this, thousands of such Hindus have been registered for citizenship and hundreds have also got citizenship. It was decided that the process would be further expedited and all the remaining victims would be granted Indian citizenship.
Kanwar Yatra: Muslims have the right to check if the food is halal before eating it. if religious sentiments can be allowed for food, why not about the seller? The law in this regard was enacted in 2006. The rules were made in 2011. These rules stipulated that food vendors had to display their licence, which included their name, on the shop. Manmohan Singh was the prime minister at the time.
When the The Shop and Commercial Establishment Act clearly stipulates registration and Licence for every shop and display the details like Establishment name, Proprietor/Partners Name, GSTIN, and other details prominently, why make this an issue at all.
It is well known that many Muslim shopkeepers on their way to Hindu religious places, pilgrimages and dharmik yatras name their shops with Hindu sounding names, named after Hindu deities, and at many places they also put up pictures of Hindu deities. It is clearly an act of deceiving by concealing one’s religion. How can someone assert their legal right to this type of deception? Don’t pilgrims also have the right to eat religious satvik food according to their religion while on a pilgrimage?
Alok Kumar also said that certainly there cannot be two orders in a democracy. Separate for followers of one religion and separate for followers of Hinduism. The Vishva Hindu Parishad supports this law. We are aware that the Supreme Court has just stayed this order. This order must be respected. However, we hope that after a full hearing on merits, the Supreme Court will withdraw its order and dismiss the petition expeditiously.
Archak – Purohit Training Programme: To make the mutts and temples of different castes and creeds the centres of social awakening, religious propagation, service and harmony in the country, and to complete the work of religious worship, worship and priesthood with pure chanting, the VHP has made a comprehensive action plan for the training of archak purohits across the country. This will enable the spread of rituals and religious education not only in Bharat, but also in western countries, through religious rituals in temples and homes. This is one of the main demands for such priests in Hindu temples abroad. Besides this, these training programs will provide technical training in addition to English and other languages. Every section of the society, irrespective of caste, creed and religion, will be made participants in this training programme.
