In the Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh, several cases of alleged love jihad have surfaced, with five Hindu girls reported missing over the past six weeks. Muslim youths are suspected in connection with their disappearances. In response, Hindu organisations have launched protests demanding action from the administration. Authorities have announced a reward of Rs 15,000 for information leading to the main accused, Akram.

Media reports indicate that five Hindu girls have gone missing from Jalaun town in the past six weeks, sparking outrage among Hindu groups. They submitted a memorandum to district officials and announced a hunger strike if the girls were not found.

Subsequently, the District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) intervened, advising against the hunger strike, and provided assurances that led to the protest being postponed.

Reports suggest that Muslim young men are targeting Hindu girls in Jalaun town. Hindu organisations have protested multiple times and submitted a memorandum to higher officials, expressing their frustration. Following inaction from the authorities, they warned of an indefinite hunger strike.

A girl from the Kotwali area, who was set to marry on July 14, went missing from her home on July 3. Her brother reported her disappearance to the Jalaun police station. Tragically, her father passed away on the night of July 13. On July 15, Hindu organisation leaders gathered at Dwarkadhish Temple for a silent procession and submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath through the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) at the Tehsil office. Despite these efforts, the police did not locate the missing girl even after a week. Akram is identified as the primary suspect in the case.

During a meeting on the matter, DM Rajesh Kumar and SP Durgesh Kumar visited the scene and urged attendees to refrain from initiating a hunger strike. They assured that concrete measures would be taken soon, including strict action against those involved in religious conversions, such as bulldozer operations.

Circle Officer Ram Singh disclosed that a case involving Akram, who was declared wanted on July 3, has been registered. Four teams have been formed to apprehend him, and the SP has announced a reward of Rs 15,000 for information leading to his capture. Additionally, efforts are underway to locate and recover the missing girl.

Notably, as per the Hindu activists, this is not the only case where a Muslim boy has abducted a Hindu girl, in the last 60 days as many as four other girls have disappeared after getting in touch with Muslim boys. The investigations in these cases are going on.
