In another anti-Hindu incident in Canada, Khalistani extremists defaced BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edmonton city in Alberta province with hinduphobic graffiti painted on its walls.
Following the incident, the Vishva Hindu Parishad in Canada condemned it and called on the Government of Canada to act against the growing extremist ideology.
“VHP Canada strongly denounces Hinduphobic graffiti & vandalism at BAPS Mandir in Edmonton. “We urge all levels of Government in Canada to act decisively against the growing extremist ideology propelling hate against peace loving Hindu community in our country,” the VHP wrote in an X post.
Notably, this is not the first time that the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edmonton has fallen victim to an attack on Hindu places of worship in Canada. “PM Modi, MP Arya Hindu terrorist are Anti Canada,’ read the graffiti”, reads the graffiti.
It is to be noted that, Chandra Arya is a Liberal member of Parliament known for raising voice against the Khalistani extremists in Canada.
Arya, member of Parliament for Nepean, expressed his concern over the rising anti-Hindu incidents of violence in Canada.
The Hindu temple BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edmonton is vandalized again. During the last few years, Hindu temples in Greater Toronto Area, British Columbia and other places in Canada are being vandalized with hateful graffiti.

He said that Hindu temples in Canada have increasingly being “vandalised”. “The Hindu temple BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edmonton is vandalised again. During the last few years, Hindu temples in the Greater Toronto Area, British Columbia, and other places in Canada are being vandalised with hateful graffiti,” Arya said.
“Gurpatwant Singh Pannun of Sikhs for Justice last year publicly called for Hindus to go back to India. Khalistan supporters publicly celebrated in Brampton and Vancouver the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and brandishing images of deadly weapons”, he added.
“As I have always been saying, Khalistani extremists seem to get away with ease with their public rhetoric of hate and violence. Again, let me put it on record. Hindu Canadians are legitimately concerned. Like a broken record, I again call on Canadian law enforcement agencies to take this issue seriously before these rhetorics get translated into physical action against Hindu Canadians,” he said.
Earlier in January 2023, another Hindu temple, Gauri Shankar Mandir was desecrated by Khalistani extremists in Brampton City in Ontario. The walls of the temple were defaced with anti-India graffiti by Khalistanis associated allegedly with the banned outfit Sikhs For Justice (SFJ). The vicious slogan of ‘Khalistan Zindabad, Hindustan Murdabad’ was found written on the walls of the temple.
