In Kozhikode, a senior leader of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has issued a warning to Principal Dr Sunil Bhaskar of Gurudev College of Advanced Studies, Koyilandy. The leader stated that their organisation would determine whether the Principal should continue to hold his position. This statement was made during an SFI protest rally held to condemn the Principal for allegedly slapping an SFI leader on July 1, 2024, an incident previously reported in this journal on the same day. The SFI leader further cautioned that if the Principal defied the SFI’s wishes, he would be barred from entering the campus. He emphasised the organisation’s capability to enforce its decisions and demands, criticising the Principal’s alleged actions as shameful. Another leader said that SFI men never attacked the Principal.
This is how the SFI handles and warns teachers and professors. The goons of CPM, the masters of SFI, brutally hacked Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha state vice president K.T. Jayakrishnan Master to death on December 1, 1999, in front of Standard 6 students while he was teaching Mathematics in a school classroom. Therefore, the warning from the SFI leader should never be taken lightly. He belongs to a party and a school of thought that believes in and practices violence as a method to achieve their goals.
