Karnataka government had to bite the dust after a court issued an order on June 12 putting a stay on all the proceedings against Bhiku Mhatre, who was arrested by Bengaluru’s Cybercrime cell for writing on X against the Congress party manifesto. After the verdict of the court stopped all proceedings against Mhatre, he expressed gratitude to all those who stood by him during the challenging time.

SATYAMEV JAYTE!🙏

BIG BIG WIN FOR ALL OF US!🔥

Hon. Karnataka High Court has STAYED ALL PROCEEDINGS in Case filed against Me at Bengaluru Cyber Crime.

Thank you so much to All of you for precious support.

Special thanks to Sr Adv. @ShyamAruna , @suyogherele & @Girishvhp Ji…

— BhikuMhatre (@MumbaichaDon) June 12, 2024

Mhatre minced no words in hailing all those who stood by him during the challenging time and added that “Modi Ka Pariwar” is not a slogan….but Emotion! as  people in Bengaluru helped him selflessly.

He further said, “Don’t want to bore you all, but one tweet to thank all Nationalist Social Media influencers who stood in my support. Pressure created by them & you all, never allowed heat to die down.”

After his arrest, the netizens slammed the Congress government in Karantaka. Due to his arrest, Mhatre was not able to cast his vote. Editor of Organiser Weekly, Prafulla Ketkar reminded Congress about its stand on free speech.

So @MumbaichaDon is arrested for tweeting on @INCIndia manifesto by Karnataka police… then @RahulGandhi would say the BJP suppresses free speech. Remember, most of the journalists & social media activists have faced police actions by the INDI Alliance state governments pic.twitter.com/dPcs69xFKG

Popular social media influencer Vinit Naik, who uses the moniker Bhiku Mhatre (@MumbaichaDon), was granted interim bail on June 21, 2024, after being wrongfully arrested by Karnataka Police. The influencer’s detention had sparked widespread outrage, with many accusing the Congress-led Karnataka government of attempting to stifle free speech

The Honorable 45th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court of Bengaluru City has granted Interim bail to Shri Vinit Naik, also known as Bhiku Mhatre and @Mumbaichadon, in connection with Crime Number 017/2024 registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station, Bengaluru…

Earlier, Mhtare had said that he would not bow down to any kind of pressure, that he was prepared to fight against any injustice, & would take the full judicial course, even if that meant approaching the highest court. He added that he had not written anything that was inflammatory or communal.
