A married Hindu woman in the Jagtial district has died under suspicious circumstances. Although initially portrayed as a suicide, stab wounds in the woman’s abdomen led police to identify it as a murder. It appears that an extramarital affair may have led to the killing. A man has surrendered to the police in connection with this case.

A shocking incident has occurred in Jagital district. A married Hindu woman has been brutally murdered, with suspicions pointing to her Muslim lover being the culprit due to an extramarital affair.

The murder in Metpalli has caused a stir in the area. Singam Mamatha (45), who lived opposite the Metpalli Government Hospital, was found dead under suspicious circumstances. Although it initially appeared to be a hanging, stab wounds in her abdomen led police to suspect murder and begin an investigation in that direction.

Mamatha, originally from Arapalli, was married to Gangadhar and has a son and a daughter. She had divorced her husband three years ago after a dispute and was living in Metpalli with her daughter, while her son stayed with his father in Arapalli. Her ex-husband had remarried.

During this time, Mamata had an extramarital relationship with Abdul Apsar (28), who was also married. On Monday midnight, during a fight between Mamata and Apsar, Apsar lost control, strangled Mamata, and stabbed her in the stomach with a knife before fleeing the scene. Mamata died on the spot from excessive bleeding. Following a complaint filed by Singham Grahit, the deceased’s son who lives in Hyderabad, the police reached the scene and started an investigation.

Her daughter initially claimed that her mother had committed suicide by hanging, but inconsistencies arose when she mentioned a knife wound in the abdomen while cutting her down, raising police suspicions.

Upon further secretive interrogation, the daughter revealed the truth, leading to the lover’s confession and subsequent surrender to the police.

Police suspected the lover was responsible for the murder, and upon searching for him, a frightened Apsar surrendered to the police.

Currently, in police custody, Apsar is being questioned to determine the motives behind the murder. Locals speculate that Mamatha lost her life because she chose to live with another man instead of her husband.

The daughter informed her father about the murder. Initially claiming it was a suicide by hanging, she later revealed that someone had attacked and killed her mother with a knife. Seeing his wife, brutally murdered after living apart for four years, the grieving husband tearfully demanded the police to punish the killer severely. He accused Apsar of causing discord in their family.

Based on the son’s complaint, the police have registered a case and are investigating whether Mamatha’s murder was solely committed by Apsar or if others were involved.
