In a shocking incident, Poovai M K Rajaji, 45, the state president of the Hindu Marumalarchi Munnetra Munnani (Hindu Renaissance Progressive Front), was brutally hacked to death on Wednesday evening in Poonamallee. The attack occurred while Rajaji was at a local tea shop, enjoying a cup of tea.
According to eyewitnesses, two assailants entered the tea stall with the clear intention of killing Rajaji. Armed with sharp weapons, they cornered him and delivered several fatal blows. The horrific scene caused customers in the shop to flee in panic. The attackers quickly fled the scene after ensuring Rajaji’s death.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and transported Rajaji to a nearby government hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. His body has been sent for autopsy, and forensic teams have collected evidence from the crime scene.

Playback singer Suchitra has claimed that at rave parties and midnight gatherings, VIPs are served cocaine and other synthetic drugs on silver plates. The drug culture among VIPs and film personalities, including young actors, has been prevalent in Kollywood for some time.
The High Court has rightly observed that the drug mafia cannot operate without the collusion of the police. International drug peddler and former DMK NRI wing functionary Jaffar Sadik is reported to have confessed to selling drugs to people in the film industry.
