Professor MK Sridhar, the former ABVP National Vice President, has been honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri in the field of Literature & Education by President Droupadi Murmu.

President Droupadi Murmu presented the prestigious Padma Awards at the Civil Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi on May 9.

Upon receiving this prestigious honour, Professor Sridhar graciously dedicated it to his team and all those who have tirelessly contributed to the formulation and implementation of the National Education Policy.

MK Sridhar highlighted the significance of the new policy, stating, “I do not consider it my achievement. I dedicate it to all those who have worked in the field of education and the team who made the National Education Policy. It is the blessings of god that the Government thought about educationists. This entire policy (National Education Policy) is a complete change with regard to all dimensions of education starting from a child of 3 years up to lifelong learning. There will be a change in all fields.”

Prof MK Sridhar’s expertise as a teacher, researcher, and education policy expert has significantly influenced our nation’s educational landscape through their contribution to the draft of the National Education Policy in 2019. His invaluable contributions are a testament to breaking barriers to access quality education. This honour is a well-deserved recognition of your outstanding work and unwavering dedication to shaping the future of education in Bharat.

Dr MK Shridhar is from Bengaluru and is presently the Chancellor of Chanakya University, Bengaluru. He is highly regarded for his views, ideas, and analyses in Educational Research. His life sketch was published as a book titled ‘Sahasra Padhi’ in Kannada. A Karyakarta of ABVP and RSS, he had earlier served as Mahanagar Sanghachalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Bengaluru.
