PM Modi lambasts Congress for its Inheritance Tax Plan; exposes its sinister motive to loot during life & after death

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a blistering critique of the Congress party during an election rally in Chhattisgarh’s Sarguja on April 24. He directed his ire at Sam Pitroda’s recent comments concerning a US-like inheritance tax in India.

Addressing the crowd, PM Modi seized upon Sam Pitroda’s interview with news agency ANI, where he endorsed the idea of implementing an inheritance tax similar to the one prevalent in the United States. Sam Pitroda, a close aide of Rahul Gandhi and president of the Overseas Congress, argued that such a tax would ensure a fair distribution of wealth, with a portion of inherited assets being contributed to the public coffers.

However, PM Modi vehemently opposed Sam Pitroda’s proposal, denouncing it as an assault on the hard-earned assets of the middle class. He criticised Congress for advocating policies that would levy additional taxes on inheritances, effectively depriving individuals of the ability to pass on their wealth to their children.

PM Modi’s condemnation of the inheritance tax proposal was accompanied by a scathing indictment of Congress’ economic policies, which he characterised as a form of continuous “plunder.” He warned against the party’s purported agenda to seize assets during an individual’s lifetime and after their demise, painting a stark picture of the consequences of Congress rule.

“The property you accumulate through your hard work will not go to your children. The Congress’ hand (the party’s election symbol) will also rob that from you,” PM Modi declared, rallying against the perceived threat posed by Congress’ taxation plans.

In a concluding remark, PM Modi encapsulated his criticism of Congress’ economic policies with the pithy phrase, “Congress ka mantra hai – Congress ki loot zindagi ke saath bhi aur zindagi ke baad bhi”, underscoring his message against what he perceives as fiscal overreach by the opposition party.

PM Modi’s sharp rebuke of Congress’ inheritance tax proposal underscores the escalating tensions between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition as the political landscape heats up ahead of upcoming elections.
