UGC NET June 2024 registration open @ugcnet.nta.ac.in; apply till May 10

The UGC NET June 2024 exam is set to be exclusively conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Candidates will be required to undertake two papers within a total duration of three hours, collectively comprising 150 questions

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has begun the registration process for the UGC NET June 2024 Exam from April 20, 2024. Interested candidates can apply for the UGC NET June 2024 exam from the official website: ugcnet.nta.ac.in or through the direct link given below:

The registration deadline for applying to the UGC NET June 2024 Exam is May 10, 2024. The online examination fee can be submitted from May 11- 12, 2024. The correction window will be available from May 13- 15, 2024. The UGC NET June 2024 exam is scheduled to be conducted on June 16, 2024.

UGC NET is a national-level exam conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor vacancies in Indian universities and colleges. The UGC NET 2024 exam will be held for a total of 83 subjects.

From this year, UGC has made a slight change in the eligibility criteria to appear for the exam. Candidates who are pursuing a Four-Year/8-Semester Bachelor’s Degree Programme and are in their last semester/year may also apply for the UGC-NET. Candidates with a Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree Programme are allowed to appear in a subject in which they want to pursue a PhD irrespective of the discipline in which they have obtained the four-year bachelor’s degree.

The other eligibility criteria are listed below:
● Candidates should have secured at least 55 per cent marks in master’s degree. However, there is a relaxation of five per cent is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories.
● Candidates should have completed their post-graduation from a UGC-recognised college/university in relevant streams.
● PhD degree holders whose master’s exams were completed on September 19, 1991, are eligible with only 50 per cent marks.
● The candidates should not be more than 30 years old to apply for UGC NET exam.

The UGC NET June 2024 will be conducted only in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The candidates will have to appear for two papers with a total duration of three hours for both papers containing 150 questions.

You will be able to apply for the UGC NET June 2024 Exam by following the steps mentioned below:
Step 1- Go to the official website: ugcnet.nta.nic.in
Step 2- Click on the ‘New Registration’ button on the homepage, and register yourself
Step 3- Login using the registration credentials
Step 4- A new window will open; fill out the application form
Step 5- Upload the required documents
Step 6- Make the payment of the application fee
Step 7- Click on the Submit button
Step 8- Take a printout of the confirmation page and save it for future reference

Candidates belonging to the general category need to pay a fee of INR 1,150 to apply for UGC NET 2024 Exam. For candidates belonging to the OBC category the application fees is INR 600 while for SC/ST candidates, it is INR 325.

A total of 9,45,918 candidates registered, and 6,95,928 appeared for the UGC NET December 2023 session exam. The UGC NET December 2023 exam was held between December 6- 14, 2024, and the result was declared on January 17, 2024.
