In yet another attempt to force Islam on minors, CCTV footage from Thane, Maharashtra, went viral. The video features a minor boy who was forced to chant ‘Allahu Akbar’ in place of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ by a Muslim youth. The 11-year-old victim mistakenly assumed, the accused youth to be a security guard and had greeted him with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ which ended with an assault on the minor boy.
Sanjay Singh, the father of the victim, lodged an FIR concerning the matter against five unidentified youths. The distressing incident unfolded on Monday (March 25) around 9:30 PM in Mumbai’s Mira Road.
Interestingly, CCTV cameras in the building recorded the entire event.
As per the footage accessed by News9live.com from CCTV cameras, a minor boy is seen entering the building, reportedly exchanging greetings with an individual, “Jai Shree Ram.” Subsequently, several youths attempted to intercept the minor, but he rushed into the building. Another clip shows five young men entering the premises.
According to the complaint filed by his father, Sanjay Singh his son was returning home around 9:30 PM after purchasing milk from a nearby store. While on his way back, he encountered someone he mistook for the building’s security guard and greeted them with “Jai Shree Ram” before continuing towards his residence.
However, he later realised his error in identification. Meanwhile, an unknown individual attempted to obstruct the minor.
Following the altercation, five unidentified youths pursued him into the building and physically assaulted him. The complaint further alleges that the minor was coerced into chanting “Allah Hu Akbar.”
Upon witnessing the minor being assaulted, a resident intervened to halt the assailants, but they managed to escape. Promptly, he informed the minor’s father, and together they escorted him to the Mira Road police station.
Subsequently, a case was registered against the unidentified youths under Sections 448, 295A, 153A, 37, 1C of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. Although the police are actively investigating the matter, no arrests of the youths involved have been made thus far.
