University Grants Commission Chairman, Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar notified that over 200 universities and institutes have registered for CUET UG, which is still expanding. When a university or institute registers itself with UGC, it signifies its intention to utilise CUET UG scores for admission into its undergraduate programs. This revelation by the UGC Chairman about over 200 universities signing up for CUET UG and the continuous expansion highlights the transformative potential of this examination.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted by the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission (UGC) to administer the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2024) for admissions into undergraduate programmes across all Central Universities along with State Universities, Deemed and Private Universities, and Autonomous Colleges in India.

By standardising the evaluation process and expanding access to a diverse array of educational institutions, CUET UG 2024 signals a new era in higher education admissions that promises equal opportunities for all students across the nation. For now, the list of participating universities is subject to change, currently comprising more than 200. This number includes 46 Central Universities, 36 State Universities, 20 Deemed Universities, 105 Private Universities, and 6 Government Institutions.

Chairman also said that the CUET UG 2024 application form was released on February 27 on the official website of NTA. Candidates who wish to register for CUET UG 2024 can fill out the today till March 26, 2024. With the deadline looming, interested eligible candidates should initiate the application process without delay, thereby averting the last-minute submission related challenges. All details related to CUET UG 2024 such as eligibility criteria, CUET UG exam scheme, exam fee as well as the roster of CUET UG 2024 participating universities are provided clearly in the Information Bulletin which is accessible on the National Testing Agency’s website.

Previously, Kumar said that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has planned additional test centers, introduced hybrid mode examinations, and incorporated breaks between exams held on the same day to remove stress and enhance convenience for all registered candidates. Moreover, efforts have been made to improve the overall testing experience by moderating the difficulty level of the CUET UG exam. As informed earlier in a tweet on X, the exam date of CUET UG 2024 is between May 15 and May 31, 2024, without any changes.
