Russia-Ukraine War: Time to accelerate and bring to an end the ongoing conflict

In the face of devastating conflict, the imperative to swiftly bring an end to war becomes paramount. As nations grapple with the human and economic tolls, the pursuit of expedited resolution strategies emerges as a critical endeavour, promising to restore peace and stability to afflicted regions

While the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has been getting prolonged and protracted with no quick end visible, another war erupted in the Middle East – between Israel and Hamas/Palestine, which still continues with intermittent signs of some abatement. With the situation adrift, the wars seem to be only prolonging further, with little evidence of the collective wisdom of world nations precipitating a decisive action to stop them and establish peace.

Peace is the first and foremost requirement for progress and prosperity. Progress and prosperity here connote the all-around advancement of the entire global population, not just of a few countries, at the expense of others. If wars and war-mongering are made the devious instruments of a lopsided spurt of economic growth, it only betrays wanting wisdom of the international political leaders in the context of professed global welfare. If instigating war and selling costly weapons to other nations has been or still is the agenda of some nations, it can only bring long-term detriment, even catastrophes, even if it delivers short-term economic gains to them.

Human beings have limited knowledge, intellectual prowess and wisdom. They have to get guidance from divine scriptural texts or from erudite and enlightened persons to understand the complex problems confronting them and devise workable solutions. Wars have always been erupting between nations of the world from time to time as per accounts of history—documented or undocumented. These wars demonstrate the stark truth of human ignorance and fallibility and, more importantly, of these humans failing to tap the divine knowledge base always available to them for solutions to their problems.

Global peace means peace for the entire global sentient beings including the superior most beings called humans. Global prosperity connotes the prosperity of all—not the enrichment of some and impoverishment of many others. Global progress means the multifaceted progress of all humans—not just material progress. Material progress must be accompanied by spiritual progress to affect human welfare. It is only this balance of material enrichment and spiritual elevation that spells happiness and bliss for mankind. All wars in global history have only underlined this divine dictum. Wars only point at the inherent, immanent weaknesses of humans — ignorance, illusion, superciliousness and self-righteousness. These have to be understood by the current crop of humans through self-enlightenment. If we understand ourselves well through honest introspection, helped by strands of transcendental sublime knowledge, we will arrive at solutions to the present problems in surprisingly quick time. For, problems seem complex; problems are accentuated and complicated by human ignorance but the solutions to those problems are remarkably simple. They will remain simple always— because divine truths are innately beautiful and simple. They are unnecessarily complicated by humans and driven by delusion and deviousness. Let us find those solutions before it is too late.

Peace will not come through more political deliberations, more media propaganda and more summits. Peace will come only through enlightenment so that the deluded generation of the current time understands the deeper realities of material and spiritual life. If seventy per cent of the global population doesn’t understand the law of the eternal nature of the human soul and the phenomena of its transmigration and rebirth, if the big majority of humans do not believe in the law of karmic retribution, then the establishment of global peace will be a distant dream. Here comes the necessity and role of Sanatan Vedic ideology, which has the potential to correct the course of faltering humans of all ages. We, as the proponents of this ideology have the greatest responsibility in today’s turbulent times for establishing peace and must strive to prove equal to this momentous task.
