The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 has been postponed to June 23, 2024. The decision was made due to the announcement of the Lok Sabha Election dates. The change in the NEET PG 2024 date will ensure minimal disruptions and ensure a fair and smooth conduct of the medical entrance examination. According to a public notice, the decision to postpone the national-level exam was made during a meeting convened by the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of the National Medical Commission, including representatives from the Medical Counselling Committee, Directorate General for Health Sciences, and National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences.

Earlier, the exam date was July 7; however, due to changes made, the NEET PG 2024 will be held on the new date. Students who wish to appear in the NEET PG exam will be able to register shortly. The application form is likely to be released in April 2024.

The decision of new date for NEET PG 2024 was made after considering various factors such as the availability of examination centers, logistics arrangements, and the convenience of candidates amidst the election-related activities across India. The rescheduling aims to avoid any clashes or inconveniences for candidates who may have to travel or are involved in election-related duties during the original exam dates.

Since the new date for NEET PG 2024 has been released, candidates have ample time to adjust their preparation schedules accordingly and ace the exam. Candidates who are willing to register for NEET PG 2024 are advised to regularly check the official website and communication channels of the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for any further updates or instructions regarding the NEET PG 2024. Additionally, they are encouraged to utilize this additional time effectively for thorough preparation and devise strategies in such a way that room for revision is available.

Once NEET PG 2024 is over, results will be announced by July 15, will the NEET PG 2024 counselling for qualified candidates will be conducted between August 5 to October 15, 2024. As per the notice, the academic session for NEET PG 2024 candidates will begin from September 16 and the last date of joining will be October 21.

The official notice released by the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) also says that the cutoff date for completion of the internship to be eligible for NEET PG 2024 will be August 15, 2024.

About NEET PG

NEET PG is a highly competitive national-level entrance exam that serves as a gateway for medical graduates who wish to take admission to various postgraduate medical courses, including Doctor of Medicine (MB), Master of Surgery (MS), PG Diploma programs, and Diplomate of National Board (DNB) courses offered by medical colleges in India. The exam is administered by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) and is conducted once a year in CBT mode with MCQs.
