In a distressing revelation from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district, yet another case of Love Jihad has surfaced, shedding light on the harrowing experiences of a Dalit widow. The accused, identified as Talib Hasan, deceitfully assumed the identity of a Hindu man named Ankit to ensnare the victim. According to the details in various reports, Hasan subjected the woman to four years of relentless sexual abuse, leveraging threats of exposing her intimate media content.

The incident unfolded within the jurisdiction of the Crossing Republic police station in Ghaziabad. The victim, employed as a security guard, found herself ensnared in Hasan’s trap, who, by profession, serves as a salesman at a medical company in Noida. Hasan’s depraved actions spanned multiple instances of sexual assault, coercing the victim into undergoing abortions when impregnated and extorting a substantial sum of Rs 2 lakh from her.

Upon discovering Hasan’s true identity, the victim took recourse in the law, filing an FIR against him and his family members on March 9. The Ghaziabad Police, through their official channels, disclosed pivotal details concerning the case.

In her narrative to law enforcement, the victim recounted her initial encounter with Talib Hasan in February 2020. Under the guise of ‘Ankit’, Hasan, originally hailing from Moradabad, cultivated a friendship with the victim that endured for several months. Subsequently, Hasan’s proposal for marriage, preceded by false assurances, led the victim into a trap.

The victim’s ordeal climaxed when Hasan, under false pretences, lured her to an OYO room, where he administered intoxicants before subjecting her to sexual assault, clandestinely recording the heinous act. This marked the inception of a prolonged period of abuse, characterised by threats, coercion, and manipulation.

Repeated instances of rape followed, punctuated by Hasan’s threats to leak compromising material, ultimately resulting in the victim’s unwanted pregnancy in February 2021. Hasan, citing unspecified obstacles, compelled the victim to undergo an abortion in March 2021. Desperate for resolution, the victim implored Hasan to fulfill his promise of marriage, only to face physical assault and derogatory remarks regarding her caste and religious background.

Hasan’s revelation of his true religious identity, coupled with derogatory remarks and physical violence, shattered the victim’s trust and exposed the depth of deceit she had endured. Furthermore, Hasan’s family members compounded her anguish, echoing casteist sentiments and justifying his reprehensible actions on religious grounds.

The victim’s plaintive cry for justice named not only Talib Hasan but also implicated his mother, sisters, brothers-in-law, brother, and sister-in-law, all accused of subjecting her to verbal abuse and harassment. Ghaziabad Police, in response, have registered an FIR against all the accused under pertinent sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the SC/ST Act.

In a significant development, authorities have apprehended Talib Hasan, marking a crucial step forward in the ongoing investigation into this disturbing Love Jihad case.
