Brace yourself for a momentous event as Bharat’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is set to embark on a historic visit to the iconic Kaziranga National Park in Assam on March 8th and 9th. This unprecedented move includes an overnight stay at the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, promising a unique blend of nature and leadership.

In light of the high-profile visit, temporary closures of the Kaziranga range’s jeep safari and elephant ride are scheduled from March 7 to 9. Assam’s Tourism Minister, Jayanta Malla Baruah, anticipates this to be a game-changer for tourism development in the national park. The state government, having meticulously prepared for the PM’s stay, expects a surge in global tourist interest.

Prime Minister Modi’s arrival on the evening of March 8th, landing at the Panbari helipad in Kaziranga, will be a spectacle. The specially barricaded 15-kilometer road to the Kohora range, where the PM will stay overnight, will witness a grand welcome with traditional dances such as Bihu, Jhumur by tea tribes, and Missing Bihu by Missing tribes performed by local folk artists.

Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, personally oversaw the preparations on March 4th, confirming the PM’s overnight stay at Kaziranga. March 9th promises a unique experience as Prime Minister Modi is expected to partake in an elephant or jeep safari, further adding to the allure of the visit.

Arun Vignesh, Divisional Forest Officer of Eastern Assam Wildlife Division, has announced the temporary closure of the jeep safari and elephant ride in Kaziranga Range, Kohora, on March 7, 8, and 9, ensuring a secure environment for the prime minister’s visit.

March 9th sees Prime Minister Modi extending his visit to Arunachal Pradesh, inaugurating various developmental projects, and addressing a public rally in Itanagar. Additionally, the PM will inaugurate the tallest statue of Bir Lachit Borphukan in Hulungpara village, Jorhat district, and address a massive public rally in Jorhat before departing for New Delhi. This comprehensive itinerary highlights the visit’s significance, encompassing environmental and developmental facets.

This historic visit promises not just a glimpse into the natural wonders of Kaziranga but also an unparalleled blend of leadership, culture, and development, making it an event to remember.
