Rajasthan: Three arrested for coercing Hindu girls into having relationship with Muslim men

It has come to light that Wasim, accompanied by other Muslim youths, habitually trailed the Hindu girls, persistently reaching out to them and exerting pressure under the guise of friendship. The sisters detailed in their complaint that the accused girls allegedly dangled financial incentives, suggesting that befriending Muslim boys would yield monetary rewards

In the Alwar district of Rajasthan, a distressing case has emerged wherein two Hindu girls allegedly faced coercion to convert to Islam. Identified as Kajal alias Babita Jatav and Sakina Meo, the accused individuals were reportedly sharing a rented accommodation. The ordeal came to light when the victims, two sisters, bravely stepped forward and lodged a complaint at the Kotwali police station in Alwar on February 27.

According to the complaint, Kajal and Sakina, purportedly acting in collaboration with a Muslim youth named Wasim, relentlessly pressured the sisters to befriend him. The victims claimed that the accused promised monetary rewards in exchange for compliance. Faced with incessant harassment and threats, the sisters felt compelled to seek refuge in legal intervention.

Upon receiving the complaint, law enforcement promptly initiated an investigation, leading to the arrest of the three accused individuals. The police are currently interrogating the suspects while also probing the possibility of involvement of a larger conversion syndicate.

The victims recounted a harrowing ordeal wherein they were coerced not only into befriending Wasim but also into considering conversion to Islam and marrying Muslim men. Allegedly, the accused individuals even resorted to threats of violence against the sisters if they resisted.

Further complicating the situation, the victims revealed that Wasim and other Muslim youths frequently stalked and pressured them for “friendship.” The accused purportedly enticed the victims with financial incentives, exploiting their vulnerable circumstances.

Anand Sharma, the District Superintendent of Police, underscored the seriousness of the incident, affirming that the investigation has been escalated under the purview of CO City Narayan Singh. He assured that the victims received the necessary support and counselling while efforts were underway to identify and apprehend any additional perpetrators involved.

In the wake of this alarming revelation, authorities remain vigilant, vowing to take decisive action against any individuals or groups found complicit in such coercive practices. As the investigation unfolds, the case serves as a stark reminder of the imperative to safeguard individual freedoms and protect vulnerable communities against exploitation and coercion.
