In another instance of a deceptive identity trap, Mohammad Faiz, a Muslim man, assumed the identity of Suraj to ensnare a Hindu woman. Under the guise of marriage, he caused her pregnancy and coerced her into undergoing an abortion. The deceit didn’t end there; Faiz abandoned the Hindu woman to marry a woman of the same religious identity as him. It was only after the victim lodged a complaint that the police apprehended him. This incident occurred in the Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

According to reports, on December 19, a Hindu woman filed a complaint at the SSP office. She detailed how she had been deceived into a false romantic relationship by a man posing as Suraj, who was later revealed to be Mohammad Faiz. The accused engaged in physical relationships with her, exploiting the false identity and marriage proposal, across various locations from Muzaffarnagar to Bengaluru.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the New Mandi police station in the district in connection with this case.

The victim hails from the Panipat district of Haryana and initially encountered Mohammad Faiz, a resident of Kala village in Muzaffarnagar, masquerading as Suraj. The victim disclosed that Faiz lived with her in a Muzaffarnagar residence for approximately one and a half years before subsequently relocating with her to Bengaluru.

Throughout this period, Faiz subjected the victim to multiple instances of rape under the false pretence of an impending marriage. When, around a year ago, the victim insisted that Faiz, still operating under the guise of Suraj, marry her, he began evading the issue. Meanwhile, the victim became pregnant. Faiz deceitfully assured her of a swift court marriage and, on November 24, 2023, administered medication without her knowledge to terminate the pregnancy. The adverse effects of this medication resulted in a miscarriage, causing the termination of the victim’s three-month-old fetus on November 26, 2023.

The complaint additionally asserts that her health deteriorated significantly due to the effects of the administered medication, and despite this decline, Faiz Alam failed to seek any medical treatment for her. Immediately following the abortion, Faiz, still posing as Suraj, abandoned the victim, leaving her alone and fleeing the scene. Despite multiple attempts, Faiz did not respond to the victim’s numerous phone calls.

In the aftermath of these events, the victim confided in her family members, who were temporarily residing in Shamli. Upon learning of the situation, the victim’s family visited Faiz’s residence, only to discover that he had married a Muslim girl. It was revealed for the first time that Suraj’s real name was Faiz, and he belonged to the Muslim faith.

According to the complaint, during this encounter, Faiz’s wife, Fauzia, and his father callously informed the victim’s family, “Go ahead, do whatever you want. You can’t harm us.”

Despite the occurrence of this incident, when the victim reached out to Faiz, he not only dismissed any intention of continuing their relationship but also issued threats. The victim claims that Faiz went so far as to threaten her life if she reported the matter to the police. Furthermore, Faiz asserted his connections with high-ranking authorities in the police department. The victim also detailed in her complaint that Faiz defrauded her of a significant amount of money during their time together.

As of the present moment, the police have apprehended the accused, Faiz, and ongoing investigations are in progress.
