Kerala: VHP urges women to embrace entrepreneurship rather than seeking protection

During the event, Mini Harikumar emphasised a shift in perspective for women, encouraging them to emerge as entrepreneurs rather than seeking protection. The call for entrepreneurship aligns with VHP’s vision for women’s empowerment, promoting self-reliance and economic independence.

Mini Harikumar advocated a nuanced approach to women empowerment, emphasising participation in social service activities and development endeavours during the Sthree Shakthi Sangamam in Chinmayanjali Hall. Mini Harikumar, in her address, underscored that women should embrace a role in protecting others while retaining their unique qualities. She emphasised that true women empowerment doesn’t imply women becoming like men but involves active engagement in social service to contribute to the country’s development.

Harikumar challenged the notion that women’s empowerment should involve mimicking male behaviour. Instead, she envisioned a holistic empowerment that goes beyond superficial activities like ‘night walks’ with police escorts. She believes that true empowerment arises when women actively participate in social service initiatives.

According to Harikumar, women should play a crucial role in the country’s development. She stressed the importance of women’s involvement in various endeavours, contributing to the creation of a safe and developed nation. The foundation of a secure and prosperous country, she asserts, lies in safe and developed homes.

Harikumar encouraged women to recognize time as a common resource shared by both men and women globally. She urges women to use their time efficiently, combining strength, capability, and willpower to foster empowerment. In her view, strategic time utilisation is a key factor in achieving true women’s empowerment.

Harikumar highlighted the significance of maintaining a harmonious environment at home. She suggests that homes should not become arenas of competition or conflict between men and women. Instead, she envisions homes as safe spaces that contribute positively to the empowerment journey.

The Sthree Shakthi Sangamam serves as a platform for these discussions and ideas, fostering a dialogue on holistic women’s empowerment. The event aims to inspire and mobilise women to contribute meaningfully to social service and development activities.

Mini Hairkumar said that we can see several noble models for women’s empowerment, in the history and culture of Bharat.

Kalarippayattu veteran Padmashree P Meenakshi Gurukkal inaugurated the Sthree Shakthi Samgamam. Reception Committee chairperson Dr. Veena Sabu presided. Balagokulam state committee members Smitha Valsalan and Kutumba Prabodhan Vibhag Karyakari Sadasy Nisha Rani conducted classes on various subjects. Latha Rajan, Dakshin Kshethriya Sahkaryavahika of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, delivered the valedictory speech.
