Uttar Pradesh: Mission Shakti 4.O empowers women through several programmes, campaigns across the State

In accordance with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision, various programmes are being organised across the State to raise awareness among women, provide information about the State Government’s initiatives, address their issues on the spot, and educate children about good and bad touches, along with other activities under the fourth phase of Mission Shakti, an official statement said.

According to the statement, to ensure the success of the fourth phase of the Yogi Government’s Mission Shakti, a total of 28,965 police personnel and 7,738 officers and employees from various departments are currently visiting the State’s gram panchayats, wards, neighborhoods, schools, colleges, and mela grounds established during Sharadiya Navratri, including pandals and Ram Leela stages.

During this time, street plays, short films, theme songs of the Women and Child Protection Organisation, audio messages, and discussions are being organised.

Padmaja Chauhan, the Additional Director General of Police of the Women and Child Protection Organisation and the nodal officer for Mission Shakti shared that during the fourth phase of Mission Shakti, from October 15 until now, the police and officials from various departments visited 76,043 puja pandals, Ram Leelas, and mela grounds across the State.

Additionally, the team organised various programmes in 40,655 gram panchayats and 11,695 wards, witnessing the participation of 939,188 women and 949,340 men.

During this time, 804,159 informational materials related to the Yogi Government were distributed. Moreover, information about good and bad touches was provided to children in 15,466 schools and colleges in the state. Additionally, 3,667 cultural programmes, 8,692 short films, and 14,109 audio clips were broadcast, and 4,467 street plays were performed.

Furthermore, awareness campaigns were conducted at 16,273 railway and bus stations and other public places. Besides, women beat workers met with 2,595 female crime victims to inquire about their well-being. During this time, counselling was provided to 2,986 family members of the victims, and counselling and essential assistance was offered to 2,198 victims.

It should be noted that women-beat workers identified 6,303 history sheets and executed 3,450 court-related orders. They also received 6,269 complaint letters on beat visits and at pink booths, resolving 5,648 of them on the spot.

Throughout the campaign, a total of 10,357 special awareness programmes were organised in rural areas and slums to address issues like child marriage, the eradication of child labour, and other child-related crimes. These programmes saw active participation from 403,901 individuals.

Furthermore, 4,320 short films were screened, and 2,763 street plays were enacted, with the involvement of 2,098 participants from non-Government organisations and various institutions.
