The separatist elements among Bharatiya Muslims have mastered the art of calculated use of aggression and victimhood as convenient tactics to advance their specific narrative to achieve their goals.
Glorifying Tipu Sultan on one hand, but distancing from atrocities of Razaakars of Hyderabad state on the other, is one of the classic hypocrisies of these Islamic separatists. Even they confuse ordinary Muslims whether to celebrate festivals like Milad-Un-Nabi, Moharram or the construction of Mazar of Ghazis.
On October 1, marking Milad-Un-Nabi in Shivamogga, Karnataka, the local Muslims put a cutout of Tipu Sultan on the main road of Ragigudda, juxtaposed with an image depicting a man in saffron attire, prostrating on his feet. The image of Tipu links directly to the historical memories of killing and mass conversion of Hindus into Islam. What relevance the life of Tipu has had with Mohammad, whose birthday is being celebrated as Milad-Un-Nabi, is a question that nobody has an answer to.
Terrorising Non Believers
During the procession, participating Muslims, brandishing weapons and swords, boldly roamed the streets of Shivamogga. The fanatic crowd also displayed a replica of the ancient Islamic sword, ‘Zulfiqar Hyderi’, a two-edged sword, historically used in Arab battles to advance the cause of Islam among Kefirs.
As the crowd hit the roads, the Muslim mob targeted Hindu homes in Ragigudda and attacked the houses of unwary locals. The Shaneswara temple in the area was surrounded by them. The Hindu residents of the area were assaulted. One of them, Shantamma was threatened and her hair was pulled by a fanatic mob. A young man, who attempted to step in, was also brutally attacked by the mob. The alleged display of Pakistan flags, pro-Pak slogans and stone pelting at will by mob and at different intersections, homes, cars, and streets were witnessed in the first quarter of Congress rule.
Failure of Congress
The posters of undivided Bharat claiming as Mughal empire and alleged photo of Aurangzeb have no relevance to Milad-Un-Nabi, but still they got a place in the procession. Are Muslims trying to equate the life of Prophet Muhammad with Mughal rule or with Tipu Sultan and Aurangzeb? The display of weapons and show of strength are often utilised to assert dominance, instil fear or project strength in a given situation. This is a clear message from the organisers of Milad-Un-Nabi procession in Karnataka and to the Hindus of Bharat.

The Bharatiya Janata Party accused the Congress Government in Karnataka of emboldening Jihadist factions and failing to protect Hindus. Reacting to this, Shivamogga MLA SN Channabasappa alleged that the violence was premeditated and coordinated, with non- Shivamogga-registered vehicles entering the city in the days leading up to the procession, and demanded a thorough investigation. Basavaraj Bommai alleged that the Congress Government has created an environment where anti-social forces and groups inclined towards violence feel emboldened.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah spoke about the matter and announced that more than 40 people had been detained in connection with the stone-throwing incident in Shivamogga city. As usual, the Congress government responded post-incident rather than proactively implementing precautionary measures to prevent law and order issues in communally sensitive areas like Shivamogga. Laer, the govt deployed the 12 platoons of the District Armed Reserve (DAR), units of the Rapid Action Force (RAF), and Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP), along with a contingent of 2,500 policemen.
