In yet another shocking case from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district, Danish, son of former BSP MP Shahid Akhlaq, has been accused of rape. On August 25, 2023, a Hindu woman from Delhi lodged a complaint against Danish for raping her on the pretext of marriage. The woman also alleged that she was unaware of his marriage and that he is in a relationship with multiple Hindu women.
According to media reports, the woman reached the SSP office in Meerut with a complaint letter on August 25. In her complaint, she stated that she is a resident of Delhi. Some time ago a man named Danish Qureshi had messaged her on Instagram. After chatting for a while, phone numbers were exchanged between the two and then the conversation started. The victim alleges that Danish told himself to be a bachelor to trap her.
Danish came to Delhi’s Hauz Khas area on August 20 to meet the woman. Here he described himself as the son of former MP Shahid Akhlaq. After 2 days i.e. on August 22, Danish called the woman to meet him after giving the address of Hotel Chrome situated on Dehradun-Delhi Road, Meerut. The victim says that no identity card was taken from her in the hotel. When she reached the hotel, the manager sent her to a room.
As per the complaint, after some time Danish came there and started talking. During this time he started drinking alcohol. After drinking alcohol, Danish raped the victim. When the woman started crying, Danish pacified her by promising marriage. Not only this, the accused also made a video of the victim taking a bath in the same hotel. On suspicion, the victim checked Danish’s mobile and deleted the video.
While checking Danish’s mobile, the victim woman came to know about his marriage. The victim also alleged that in Danish’s phone chats, she saw that he was in touch with several Hindu girls. He is deceiving all these girls by talking like this.

Due to this incident, the victim started feeling cheated. After this, she lodged a complaint against the accused. She said that Danish has blocked her on every social media and is not even picking up calls.
After the complaint, the police took cognizance of the matter and started an investigation. Hindu organisations have demanded strict action against Shahid Akhlaq’s son Danish. Sachin Sirohi, a Hindu activist, said that the history of Shahid Akhlaq’s family has been tarnished since the year 1990. Sachin says that Danish Akhlaq was once caught with a gun, which the Meerut police had declared to be a toy.
It is noteworthy that Danish’s father Mohammad Shahid Akhlaq is a meat trader. He has also been a Member of Parliament in the year 2004 on a Bahujan Samaj Party ticket. In the year 2009, a case was also been registered against Shahid along with 24 others for running an illegal slaughterhouse.
