Karnataka / Hubli August 17, 2023– The two-day Prabandh samiti meeting of the Bhartiya Kisan Sangh began by garlanding the picture of Lord Balarama and lighting a lamp on Saturday at Srinivasa Garden in Hubli, Karnataka. and continued till 13 August. After guest introduction, Dr. Somdev Sharma of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh put forward a resolution in the meeting to cancel the provision of private public participation in research by ICAR. Explaining to the journalists about the resolution Mohini Mohan Mishra, All India General Secretary of Bhartiya Kisan Sangh, said that recently ICAR has announced to conduct research in partnership with private agencies. Senior scientists of ICAR are engaged in research work for years. Whith such proposal, scientist working since long feeling uncomfortable and insecure with less importance and helpless.

Expressing concern, Mr. Mishra said that due to the provision of participation of private agencies in the research of ICAR, all the research will go to big corporate house in favor of industry and the result will be expectation and predatory to farmers interest un finally ICAR will be unused for farmers.

That’s why the Bhartiya Kisan Sangh demands that the government should intervene and give sufficient funds to ICAR for research. So that the work of scientific research can be successfully completed and expected results can be provided to the farmers, There will be no need for private participation. About the membership drive, Mohini Mohan Mishra, General Secretary of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh said that this coming year is the year of membership. Bhartiya Kisan Sangh has set a targeting formation of minimum active village committees in one lac villages.

Membership campaign is being started in the entire country after making a detailed plan in the meeting of the prabandh samiti. Mishra said that information has been received from different regions of the country about the farmers affected by flood and drought. Bharatiya kisan sangh demanding from this platforms to all government to provide compensation immediately to enable the farmer to continue in farming to secure our food security.

In the meeting of the All India prabandh samiti of Bhartiya Kisan Sangh, four representatives from all the states along with the Central Executive committee have participated.
