In a shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district, a tuition teacher has been arrested by the police. The allegations are that he used to show obscene and vulgar videos, often referred to as porn videos, to minor girls. He also asked them to replicate the same. He has been teaching a number of minor students for over five years, and all of them made similar allegations. After one of the students broke out, her family lodged a complaint against the teacher. He has been arrested and booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

What happened?

On August 17, Sakeena Bano (name changed) reached the Chaman Ganj police station with a complaint letter. The letter mentioned Hafiz Amir, who worked as a tuition teacher and used to teach Sakeena’s daughters.

Sakeena has two daughters; one is 9 years old and the other is 5 years old. Amir has been teaching them for over five years now. As he belongs to the same community as Sakeena, he gained the family’s trust. In the locality where Sakeena lives, other parents have also appointed Amir as a teacher for their children.

On August 16, Sakeena’s younger daughter told her that, teacher Amir showed them vulgar videos and asked them to replicate the same. Skeena also confirmed with other students, and then she decided to lodge a complaint against Amir.

What says the victim’s family?

While speaking with the media about the incident, Sakeena said, “Mohammad Aamir has been coming to our home for the last five years to teach my 9-year-old and 5-year-old daughters. But for the last few days, the girls have looked scared. They were not even going to play. I talked to the girls about this. Then came to know that Aamir, the teacher who comes to teach, shows pornographic videos to the girls on his mobile,”

Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh: Tuition teacher, Hafiz Amir used to show porn videos to minor girls, asking them to replicate the same. A student told her mother, after which an FIR was registered, at the Chaman Ganj police station & Amir was arrested.

“At the same time, he threatens to beat up the girls if they say this thing at home. This same teacher goes to teach at other places too. There, he also shows the same video. Also says that all this is not wrong. This scared the girls a lot, so they told me this at home,” she added.

She further added, “My daughter told me that while teaching, the teacher used to show obscene pictures and photos on mobile. At the same time, he used to threaten that if he told anyone, he would beat him. This scared the daughter a lot. When he was asked a lot, on Wednesday (August 16) evening, she narrated the incident. After this, a complaint has been lodged in the police station.”

The father of the girls said, “Last night our girls told us that the teacher shows dirty movies on his mobile. Then he asks them to do the same. My daughters are very upset. They are not eating food properly. The younger daughter told me that whenever Didi used to say that, she would tell all this to her mother, the teacher used to threaten that if told, he would kill us. My daughter studies in class-2. We want the accused to get the harsh punishment.”

What did the police?

Following the family’s complaint, the police booked the accused under IPC section 354D (fostering personal interaction with a woman even after a clear indication of disinterest) with sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offense (POCSO) Act.

Joint Police Commissioner Anand Prakash Tiwari said that a case of showing an obscene video to a 9-year-old girl through a mobile phone has come to light. On the complaint of the mother, a case has been registered under the POCSO Act. At the same time, the accused teacher has been taken into custody in this case. The entire matter is being investigated. His mobile phone is being examined. Along with this, the accused is also being interrogated.

Notably, the police recovered obscene videos from Amir’s phone.

What says the father of the accused?

Shakeel Ahmed, father of Mohammad Amir, an accused in this case, says that Amir has been going to teach students for the last several years. But nothing like this ever happened. Along with this, he also goes to teach at other places. But such complaints never came. Aamir also got married in February this year.
