PM Modi says,” People-to-people connect is strongest foundation of India-France partnership”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the mutual trust between the people of India and France as the basis of strengthening of relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi  who is on a two day visit to France said that the relations between the two countries are “strong, trusted and consistent. He said that  desipte the challenges tha are being faced in the changing world order,  India-France relationship is in “excellent shape.” India and France complete 25 years of strategic partnership and would look forward to prepare a road map for the strenthening the bilateral relations for the next 25 years.

PM Modi bats for strenthening of ties between India and France for global good 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi added that he believes that French President Macron’s thinking really matches with that of India and both the countries would work closely to develop the partnership bilalterally as well as draw a framwork for global good. PM Modi also reiterated that partnership of India and France is important for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific Region.  PM Modi  opined, “India and France are tackling many challenges of the 21st century. Therefore, at this crucial time, the importance of the strategic partnership between our countries has increased even more.” Earlier, PM Modi expressed gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife for hosting him at the Élysée Palace.

PM Modi Congratulates people of France on National Day

Indian PM said that he has visited France many times and this time, it’s a special occasion to come to France. He said, “Tomorrow, it’s a national day of France. I congratulate the people of France on this day, and I thank people for inviting me on this occasion.” Today French PM received me at the airport and tomorrow I will attend the National Day parade with my friend Emmanuel Macron. This is a reflection of the unbreakable friendship between India and France.”

PM Modi also recalled that Indian soldiers 100 years ago laid down their lives while protecting the pride of France. “Hundred years ago, Indian soldiers, protecting the pride of France, laid down their lives on French soil while performing their duty. Then the Punjab Regiment, one of the regiments that took part in the war here, is going to participate in the National Day Parade tomorrow,” he said.

India and France have agreed to use UPI in France

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India and France have agreed to use Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payment mechanism and it will begin from the iconic Eiffel Tower. While addressing the Indian community at La Seine Musicale in Paris, PM Modi said,  “Be it India’s UPI or other digital platforms, they have brought a huge social transformation in the country and I am happy that India and France are also working together in direction. India and France have agreed to use UPI in France. I will leave after the agreement. However, it is your job to move forward. Friends, in the coming days its beginning will be made from Eiffel Tower which means that Indian tourists will now be able to make payments in Rupees, through UPI, at Eiffel Tower.”

PM Modi addresses the Indian community 

A large number of people from the Indian community came to listen Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While addressing them, PM Modi called for promotion of tourism in India and asked them to visit the prominent toursit centres of India. Enthusiastic Indian community memberschanted ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ as they met the prime minister.

During his visit PM Modi will meet the CEOs of the Frencjh companies and both the countries will also talk about the strenthening of the defence ties.
