Madhya Pradesh: 6 Muslim men arrested for attacking Dalits; Accused forced them to wear shoe garland

A video from the hill town of Madhya Pradesh, Shivpuri is making rounds of the internet. In the said video, bearded men with skull caps can be seen abusing Dalits for allegedly molesting a woman in the area. These attackers crossed all the limits by painting the faces of these men black, putting shoe garlands around their necks and making them eat filth.

As soon as the video went viral, the police arrested all the culprits involved in this misdeed. Netizens have reacted to this video in different ways; some have called it Dalit atrocity and some called it a result of the ‘Bhim-Meem’ unity.

On June 30, in the Barkhadi village of the city, some locals attacked Anuj Jatav and Santosh Kevat for allegedly harassing a woman in the village. Seven Muslim men from the village came out and started abusing these men.

In order to teach a lesson to the abusers, the villagers first attacked them and then decided to carry out a march around the village. For the march, the attackers first painted their faces black and then put a garland of shoes around their necks.

A video of the said incident is making rounds of social media, a woman can also be seen in the clip. Notably, after the video went viral, the police investigated the matter and found nothing related to the harassment of the women. When the incident took place not a single woman was around the victims.

It is notable that the men have come to the village after they connected to a woman through a mobile phone.

Giving information about the case, Superintendent of Police (SP) Raghuvansh Bhadoria has said that after this, on the basis of the complaint of the youth, a criminal case was registered against Ajmat Khan, Vakil Khan, Arif Khan, Shahid Khan, Islam Khan, Rahisha Bano, Saina Bano. Six accused have been arrested, while one accused is absconding, his search is on.

However, the surprising fact about this inhuman act was no political comment on the matter. The act was done by the Muslims against Dalits in the election state of Madhya Pradesh, then too not a single comment came out.

Netizens have claimed that neither Chandrashekhar Azad of the Bhim Army came out in support or the so-called Dalit activists. There was no response, nor did this news reach BSP supremo Mayawati, nor did this incident reach the notice of Asaduddin Owaisi, who gave the slogan of ‘Bhim-Meem’ unity.

Here are some of the comments:

A verified Twitter user wrote, “Ajmat Khan, Arif, Rahisha Bano etc. paraded two Dalit Hindu brothers publicly in Shivpuri, MP with soot on their faces. They are waiting for Dilip Mandal, Chandrashekhar Ravan and Owaisi for help.”

Another user questioned the Dalit activist and wrote, “@BhimArmyChief now I think u blood is cold bcz here ur muslim brothers have done with ur show called Dalits brothers.this is not suited to ur agenda.. Don’t worry everyone understands ur agenda including Dalits that how u used them to get ur packet warm. Fake Dalits Thinker.”

Another verified user wrote, “Dilip Mandal, Chandrashekhar Ravan, Prakash Ambedkar etc. were found thinking “If only there was a Brahmin-Thakur attacker, they would have played brick by brick right now”.

A user wrote, “yeh hain asli jai bhim jai meem. if those hindus who still call themselves dalit and deny to come in hindu unity, then you know that you are doing atrocity on your own people. this is the reality of jai bhim jai meem.”
