On June 28 the makers of the film, ‘72 Hoorain’ the trailer of the film. After back-to-back hits of the films like The Kerala Story and Kashmir Files, the audience is desperately waiting for the upcoming film by Sanjay Puran Singh Chouhan.
The film revolves around the world or terrorists and their psyche which is stuffed with thoughts of the afterlife, Jannat, Jahnnum and the perks in Jannat. The two-minute thirty-one-second video was released on YouTube which has 202 thousand views, the video is also viral on platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
The video starts with a cleric talking to the people about ‘Hoorain’ in Jannat, followed by a number of suicide bombers who kill themselves amidst chants of ‘Allah Hu Akhbar’. The story moves ahead with shots of Gateway of India and Hotel Taj in Mumbai after a deadly blast. Then the lead actors talk about the sewers of Jihad they have made in life and killing ‘Kaffirs’ for the Jannat.
The movie is set to release next month, however, in a shocking update, the Central Board of Film Certification denied a censor certificate to the trailer. Nevertheless, the trailer was released digitally and is already making quite a buzz.
The trailer launch took place in Mumbai and was also attended by director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and co-producer Ashoke Pandit. 72 Hoorain will star Pavan Malhotra and Aamir Bashir in lead roles.
Sharing the trailer, co-producer of the film, Ashoke Pandit wrote, “As promised presenting to you the first look of our film #72Hoorain. I am sure you will like it. What if you end up dying a brutal death instead of meeting 72 virgins, as assured by terrorist mentors? Presenting the first look of my upcoming film “72 Hoorain”. The film is slated to release on 7 July, 2023.”
The film claims to “delve into the depths of human psyche and explore the twisted paths taken by Fidayeens.”
Producer Gulab Singh Tanwar stated, “The movie ’72 Hoorain’ is surely going to wrench your gut, and the trailer gives a glimpse of the harsh reality of terrorism, the brainwashing, emotional manipulation and all things dark that go into the making of a gruesome terrorist.”
About the CBFC censor issue, Ashoke Pandit said, “They (Censor board) have asked us to remove some scenes and words from the trailer, but they have no objection to keeping those scenes in the film. We are questioning this contradiction. This film is not against any religion and is dealing with terrorism.”
He also said. “We’re going to rip off the censor board tomorrow. Who are these people sitting there? It’s a very serious matter. All the authorities of the censor board are answerable to this decision of rejecting the certificate to the trailer of a National Award-winning film. The film also won an award at the Indian Panorama section at IFFI. How can you reject the censor certificate to that film? There’s something wrong in the censor board and Prasoon Joshi is answerable. There are some black sheeps in the censor board.”
He added, “We have shown the feet of a dead body which CBFC has asked to remove. A reference to the Qur’an has been asked to be removed. There’s something else regarding animal welfare too, but that’s not important. You have issued a censor certificate to the film. The trailer consists of the same visuals. So, how can you reject the trailer?”
Notably, the makers dropped the teaser of the film on June 4, which gave deep insight about the dark world of suicide bombing and terrorism. It is an ultimate reality check of the fact that these suicide bombers are a product of brainwashing and the Jannat-Jahnnum myth.
’72 Hoorain’ is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 7.
