New Delhi: “I think people are fed up with political journalism. Who said what, and which controversy is there? What did this leader say, what the other said? People are not interested in it anymore. Now people want knowledge, they want information. This young generation wants innovation & research. What new is there, what big is there, this is what people are interested in,” said Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari at the inauguration of the news portal ‘Punarvas Online.com’ of senior journalist Pradeep Sardana’s newspaper ‘Punarvas’.

Lok Sabha MP Manoj Tiwari, Delhi Pradesh BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, noted poets Surendra Sharma, and Ashok Chakradhar, former Delhi Chief Secretary Omesh Saigal, renowned physician Dr AS Dave and Delhi MLAs Omprakash Sharma and Abhay Verma were present at the function held at Constitution Club, New Delhi, including several other dignitaries.

Union Minister Gadkari said, “The journey of 48 years of journalism of well-known journalist Pradeep Sardana is amazing. The name of Pradeep Sardana ji is among the phenomenal & great journalists of mission journalism. He is one of those journalists who have the power to keep their point dominantly that is in the interest of society. The great thing is that you started journalism at the age of 14 only. You became the editor of ‘Punarvas’ at the age of just 17, which is continued till date. Apart from this, there is no such Hindi newspaper of the nation with which you have not worked. You have written in all the newspapers. People recognised what you have written, and what you have been writing till now. There has been a purpose behind all of that. Your journalism has a mission. The spirit behind your writing, behind the words, and the commitment that you have in your heart to make it reach the common man, is remarkable. This can change the viability of the society along with the viability of the nation.”

Gadkari further said “With the power of technology, we have now succeeded in landing an aeroplane in water. Now we will start a ‘water taxi’ through the sea to reach the new Vasai airport being built in Mumbai. Upon this water taxi, the airport can be reached from anywhere in just 17 minutes. This will not only reduce the traffic on the roads but will also provide employment to 10,000 people.”
